I have 47k SCB points need to use by end of next month. I browse through their website to redeem items seem not many choice. If to redeem cash need to use many points compare to other bank like MBB, e.g. RM 50- 14000 points. the same goes for shopping voucher RM 50 voucher- 13 000

Which is more value for the points to redeem? cash, voucher or items? Retain the card just because of the 0.5% cash back

i have called about platinum wish list, they said just mention what you want and the department will look into it. however looking at their points vs item I doubt will be expensive as well. maybe should try for known price item and compare. but i more into redeem parkson voucher

update regarding platinum wish list:

I request to redeem a seiko watch and the price is RM 500 (price from forumer here)

option given

1) 162k points to get it = 162k/14k (RM 50 cash)
12 vouchers X RM 50= RM 578/RM600

expensive by RM 78/ 100

2) 46k points + RM 573 = RM 164 + 573= RM 737

expensive by RM 237

in this case item that I request is slight expensive if redeem 100% from points and very expensive if redeem points + cash

-but some item in their brochure is cheaper if you redeem your points

i think my decision to redeem shopping voucher is the best

No changes in credit Limit for me as I didn't submit any income docs during my "upgrade request"

just wonder for existing users who get this RM 150, in case we used our existing cards this month would our total expenses offset a bit with this RM 150? assuming that we not using our new card at all.

I have already "escalated" the case to their Sales Dept (aka Price Solutions) to call me back.
The CS said to creditted after 30 business days (exclude public holiday)... but the terms says

I just wondering is there any condition to get this RM 100? e.g. need to swipe for certain amount or times

i received this email:

'Upon further confirmation from the relevant department on the cash back, as per terms & conditions and communication, the manual cash back for online approved application will only be credited 30 days after the approval month.

Since the card is approved in August, the cash back will be credited by the end of September 2012 to the card account. '

so 30 days after approval month?

"Kindly be advised that upon further confirmation, we have noted that you are not entitled for the remaining cash back of RM100 as the application was not done via online.

We seek to advice that the additional cash back of RM100 is applicable for applications made via online."

I did 3 swipes prior to the 30-day after approval.
I fax in my request to upgrade

p.s. I will fax another request come 1 Oct... stay tuned for my progress report.

Your request is same like mine. i swipe also within 30 days and request for upgrade. but according to their email my application is not online. i argue my application is not online but not manual or through branch also. what to do? 2nd email also they said not entitled.

Here's how you get RM1600 NETT from SCB for applying for their 7 Credit Cards
Business Visa Platinum = RM300
Visa Platinum = RM300
MasterCard Platinum = RM300
Preferred World MasterCard = RM300
Business Visa Gold = RM250
Visa Gold = RM250
MasterCard Gold = RM250

Total = RM1950 - (RM50 GST x 7) = RM1600  whistling.gif  thumbup.gif  rolleyes.gif  shocking.gif

how you apply the rest of the cards? i guess no longer ask for upgrade
