So the cheapest way to get an iphone 32GB with no contract.

Celcom exec i248 package: device price + upfront: RM 1738.00
Pay penalty for early termination: RM 500.00
Total: RM2238.00

RETAIL PRICE: RM2590.00
SAVING: RM352.00

Looks good. Better take advantage of this before they wise up.

BTW, are the iphones sold here locked to any network or can be used with any carrier?

In the event of early termination prior to the minimum subscription period, any upfront payment payable under this Program shall be forfeited.

your upfront will be forfeited, if you terminated it right after you pay for it
whats the point ? smile.gif

you may want to double check for the upfront payment of 32GB iPhone in i248 plan smile.gif
it is RM 720 (1year) and RM 1200 (2 year)

for 1 year to get an iPhone with this kind of method
RM 720 + RM 1288 + RM 500 = RM 2508 and in the other way round you may lost the warranty period for 1 year

for 2 year,
RM 1200 + RM 538 + RM 500 = RM 2238

Yes it is confirmed cheaper than the RRP @ RM 2590 but for me, i dont think worth it. iPhone warranty is very important

but if you are ok and celcom agree with this way of purchase, you may want to get iPhone 4 16GB at RM 1948 with i248 2 years contract, laugh.gif and you can sell it at RM 2150- RM 2190 and earn some SURE bucks from here

yea, thats the main issue
and like previous one says, the first bill, either pro-rated or charged is another issue.

the waranty is valid for any Apple product, thats for sure, just that when we return the device for Celcom for replacement/repair, thats another story whether they will serve you since you are not their customer anymore

Warranty by Apple still valid, but extended warranty will be void.
From their T&C
QUOTE
*All i248 plans (12 or 24 months contract) will also be receiving FREE Extended Warranty. Insurance and Extended Warranty will be void once the account is terminated.
No refund of premium / access fee will be given.

ofcoz they did not announce any new iphone yet bcoz iphone4 white had just been released by them... blush.gif
but the introduction on 'iOS 5' should give a hint already that they are coming out with a new iphone soon, earliest maybe end of this year... drool.gif
iphone4 is already good enough, i don't think they are coming out with a new design yet... nod.gif
maybe just hardware upgrade like camera and processor, u know?? 3g-3gs so 4-4s..??? hmm.gif
the 5th should be next year... well that is based on speculation.. biggrin.gif

btw, the iphone 4s speculation is also based on what the celcom guy said to me,
coz celcom sent their employee for iphone training before they sell apple product..
and when he mention iphone 4s and not iphone 5 as the next new one coming out, i was more convinced..
but still, the wait may take longer.. u know la steve jobs is perfectionist~ whistling.gif

Yes ..
Plan better RPP
Why ?

2) 6000 Min Celcom to Celcom
3) Warranty ? Plan got 24 Month
4) White Iphone ----> Only for Plan icon_rolleyes.gif
