The chance of Dire Straits reforming is highly unlikely. The chances of them reforming and coming to perform in KL is laughable. But, so what? Bluestreats will be paying tribute to one of the biggest rock bands of all time at The Duke @ Duta Vista on 3 November 2007.
Blues who? you might ask. Well, in case you are worried that this is some dinky little pub band, worry no more. Blues Treats is a sinfully undiscovered band who have been playing blues rock with more passion in the blister on their little finger than all of the local fluff you get put together. And if you close your eyes, you could swear that the low growl of the lead singer was Mark Knopfler. If Mark Knopfler smokes two packs a day.
There will be three sets. The first two sets will be Dire Straits hits as well as their less well known songs (for the aficionados out there). But hang on for the third set when the band will play other covers and some of their own stuff. With two blistering lead guitars and a guest sax (Azmi) this promises to be an evening of nostalgia that will blow you away.
