Hello guys & gals.

So this is my prob with my PS3 Slim, everything turned slow for some reason, booting up the console, switching between pics, loading music/video took some time.

I have did some research before this and i found this solution :

Turn on your PS3 > turn it off > while it's in standby mood (Red light) > hold the turn on button > wait it beep 3 times,it will turn back off into standby mood > hold the turn on button again until you hear 2 beeps at the same time > you will be inside recovery menu > restore file setting is all i clicked since i found this from Official PS Forum. There are other options like rebuild system data but i didn't dare to click it since i was afraid i could lost my data.

Everything turned out to be fine but the next day it happened again and i need to do it everytime when i want to play, sometimes i even have to restore ps3 setting itself from the settings in xmb menu.Real troublesome.I'm wondering if any1 had encounter this prob before and managed to fix it ?

PS:From what i researched this is not the sign of YLOD.

Try booting PS3 without harddisk.

I'm experiencing the same thing too. It seems every thing is lagging.

during the main screen, during gameplay. Googled, found out that lots of people are experiencing the same thing. It's all after the firmware update 3.61 today.

anyone of you guys are experiencing the same issue? cry.gif

Hmmm i did some research on that just now and from what i heard, the faster it run the faster the hdd heat up and next it will affect the PS3 sweat.gif Some people said it's not worth to get 7200rpm due to loading time get decrease like only 2-3 secs lolz well i will see ! Thanks bro.

And big THANKS to all other ppl who replied in this thread too.

Sounds like mechanical problem (HDD motor), replace your HDD ASAP because it'll die at any time.

Added on June 1, 2011, 5:14 pmRegular HDD (5400/4200 RPM) won't generate a lot of heat, less noise and consume less power.

Thanks bro will do look into the prob thumbup.gif

UPDATE : So i did the 'Rebuild Database' at recovery menu and the slowing down prob seems to get better by little bit... sweat.gif well i'm still wondering should i change hdd or not since there is no 100% confirmation that after changed hdd the prob will gone or still there doh.gif

One of my friends said it could be the lens etc etc because it read slow or something like that wink.gif Sigh...

UPDATE 2 : Well i did some research a while back and i found out if it's really HDD problem i should be able to hear some 'tick tick' or any curious sound coming from the PS3.Well this is getting on my nerves :/ want to change hdd but don't dare confirm 100% will fix the slowing down problem :/
