Hi, all sifu.

I just bought an auction unit. I heard from some of the agent that I no need to pay the previous owner electricity bill. I just hv to create the new account with the TNB. May I know where should I go to create the new account.

I am living in Johor Bahru, but my auction property is located at puchong perdana. Can I just create a new account in JB? I call their helpline 15454 but the customer service suck!! always divert my call to nobody & there is no complaint session under their website!! mad.gif

Can any sifu enlighten me?? Thanks!!

just get a copy of the old tnb bill (or from neighbour) and it is stated in the bill which tnb office to go. just fill in a form and pay rm20 stamp duty to change account to your name. but they will ask u to settle the old bills b4 change to new owner. i dun think u can create a new account since it is an old prop. (ok for new prop or rumah setinggan ). otherwise, everyone can go to change account and owe tnb thousands of arrear. eg husband change name to wife etc

You have to go to the nearest TNB branch in charge of your house area.

Yes, you just need to show photostat S&P, photostat IC and deposit around rm 300 + rm 20 stamp duty

Hi,

from my experience on previous lelong property, you should make sure that the following things are change and monitor:

1) Name.
2) Account Number.
3) On the receipt, it will state your deposit amount.
4) Meter reading of your TNB meter.

My previous experience that when they change my name, i nearly have to pay 2k for the 1st month due to the meter reading was different.

but luckily i snap all the picture i have and place it as a record. same goes as your water bill.

Remember to change your name at indah water, DBKL/MPPJ, syabas.

Regards,

Hence, I now need to change the name in TNB and indah water only, right?

Will my lawyer do it for me?? bcos i dont know where to change the name in Indah Water...

Thanks a lot!! hankim..

Every new owner have a new TNB account number. If old owner owes TNB , it is his problem because that is under old account.

Ask the management of condo/apartment to take photo of meter for you.

No !

TNB will send their people to do the meter reading.

You just apply for a new account.
