YES!! I was just asking my wife what was the sound when on our way home... near the stering and air cond temperature control there. Sometimes it will goes off.
will ask HC to check during my 10k service.

With Honda Insight, YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO PUMP PETROL ONCE A MONTH!! haha

I believe your fear of maintainance is heard from those who r denying the advantage of Insight hybrid car.

from my observation from friends and other forums, these are common comments on Honda Insight:

1. It is a CHEAP hybrid, mild hybrid, not a real Hybrid car.
2. Insight is not a Hybrid car, real Hybrid is Pr*us.
3. It is marketing gimmick from Honda
4. It cannot run on the engine alone
5. Diesel car is better than Insight
6. HIGH maintainance, Insight battery cost RM12k! some say RM8k-10k.
7. Cannot fetch tall people
8. Vios, Myvi, Persona, Fiesto, VW golf etc can get better fuel consumption... bla bla bla
....the list goes on and on ...

I dunno why many people hate this Insight so much.

guys becareful when u mod your car especially if u mod on electrical items, might end up like this Prius

Today i get call from my SA, saying i can get my Silver Insight due to one indian customer cancel his booking coz he's going to oversea.
But the car already tinted with unfamiliar brand one cost about rm900. i said i want to see the car first coz i want to check whether the tint good enough or not. Otherwise i had to wait for another month.

it was super hot today, so i turn off my ECO button... and drove the rest of the way home w/ECO off. Wow, can feel the difference - suddenly felt like I was driving sports car

(haven't been driving w/ECO off, since I always drive w/ECO on, 95% of the time. good to feel what it's like w/ECO mode off!)

try it on the highway, you'll be amazed.

I think most insight owners bought honda insight because dont wanna be another owner of city, vious (or vios? whatever la), forti, inspira etc on the road, some more it is hybrid, cbu.

Did a couple of times on 'S' mode without ECO on NKVE, its just gets better. Occasionally drive like normal, but sometimes wana show power a bit, haha...cos feel bored travelling such a long distance on highway. Smoke a couple cars before, just couldnt resist the 'force' of 'S'. I had my ride ramped up to 6k rpm, already at the red borderline...scary yo! Anyone go beyond the borderline?
Did accelerate also from standstill (with 'S' and ECO off), can feel the whole engine wants to shoot like rocket, but hold-up kind of feel, its like beng 'bottlenecked' by the car itself...
couldnt agree more, had enuf of other cars that I have seen too much on the road, so common dy.

guys. you should beware of the CVT gear box. Please google about it or from the previous Gen honda city. prevent technical failure before its too late. Car stationary and full acceleration, playing with 'S' mode, drive car with cvt like a race car with high rev, not a good idea. Don't end up paying RM 14k for a new CVT gearbox.....Just a little friendly advice.

Tax exception is the main reason I bought this car and of course CBU.

Just tried the econ off and in Kesas highway at 160 km/h...superb...another Civic follow behind and I let him pass...haha

am thinking of a car at the end of this year. Insight is one of my options.
I got a question : I heard that the air cond switches off when the car is at a stop like a traffic light. does this happen only at Econ mode or it is by default ?
