Welcome to hybrid world.
So your 12V was faulty and your 100V was drained off. Your car not starting is now making sense.
On Insight, the 12V battery is being charged by 100V using DC-DC, 100V-12V converter. Once the 100V detected 12V was low, current from 100V will flow and trying to charged the 12V. Since the 12V was faulty, it cant kept the charge and also depletes 100V battery, hence your car cant crank.
No need to charge when stationary. You can also shift to 'L', slow crawl leaving your house and the IMA battery will be charged @ 2000rpm and above. In less than a minute it will be fully charged (from mid level).
Quite high IMHO. Mine last time merely 12km.
City is using torque convetered convensional auto. Insight use CVT.
Not true. The warranty is 5 years. How long can last, depend on our luck maybe. Some 1st gen Insight in US still using original battery from year 2000.
Creep aid mode doing its job. Will disappear once the car properly seasoned.
