QUOTE(macwai01 @ Jul 8 2011, 10:16 AM) I thought iPad uses internet to stream google maps? You can use 3rd party navigation software that do not require Internet. QUOTE(macwai01 @ Jul 8 2011, 10:16 AM) Pink N8 was released a few months ago i suppose. Talk only. Nokia Malaysia has no idea when it will become available here.

QUOTE(ahpaul82 @ Jul 8 2011, 12:12 PM) UOB Bank got easy payment on Nokia N8 Pink... it will take around 2weeks time once confirm buying... [attachmentid=2318840] Ha ha. That means UOB know more about product availability than Nokia. Why I know? I called up Nokia care line this morning and they say they don't know Oh...one more thing. Nokia say the pink N8 do not have Anna preinstalled, contrary to what the web is saying. This post has been edited by Optiplex330: Jul 8 2011, 12:24 PM

QUOTE(alexlimco @ Jul 8 2011, 04:26 PM) Sifu, that's the problem with Nokia. Always the answer is soon but when nobody knows. Just like the updates, soon but some wait until the cows come home also cannot get. Next time, ask Nokia to define the word "soon". To a piece of rock, soon means hundreds of year instead of million. To a butterfly, soon means a few hours. LOL.

I suppose Garmin XT works with N8 and if yes, which version?
And what in-car charger are you people using with the N8?

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jul 10 2011, 09:15 AM) My fren already flash it with that unofficial Anna he said he love the new UI and smoothness. He given me the installation files but I need my camera so ill wait for the official one. Those adventurous can try it at your own risk lol Me heart like a mouse so no unofficial for me. Based on computer experience, fresh installation is always better than upgrade so am waiting for preinstalled N8 (don't care what color but no pink please, I don't wear skirt) and nobody know when it will be available.

QUOTE(biggie @ Jul 14 2011, 01:26 PM) after upgrade to 3.08 you need to delete two folder lock map and lock cities. then you can download the map again. happen to me also; full solution at nokia beta labs. I don't like 3.08, maps are too small since they make button bigger. Map now become separate application, drive, walk, maps etc. Have very interesting new application 'map reporter' where user can update map, so with thousands of nokia phones then the maps should be much better updated. This is indeed very interesting. Having compared OVI and Garmin, I reckon the No. 1disadvantage of OVI is lack of POI. So you reckon this 'map reporter' is going to rectify that? BTW, I thought the latest is only 3.06? And what do you mean by 'separate application'? You mean to use Drive, you have to launch it. And if you want to change to "Map", you have to close "Drive" application and launch "Maps" application? That's not convenience at all and time wasted because Nokia aren't exactly speed demon to start off with.

QUOTE(luckyhillkop @ Jul 15 2011, 09:15 AM) 3.08 has a shortcut widget. the widget has 4 options, map, drive, check in & guide. they are just shortcuts to make things a bit faster. if u want navigation to somewhere u can straight away go to drive or guide, no need to go to map. Drive give u access to your fav places and search. guide lists down POI. They need to put in more places in guide though to make it relevant. And oh, from map u can go to drive and vice versa like previously. With 3.04, you can not search using coordinates. You must first create a landmark with those coordiante to be able to use coordinates. How about 3.06 and 3.08? LOL. I have it on my 3.04 this map reporter but it no option to upload POI. Only missing road & changed roads etc. This post has been edited by Optiplex330: Jul 15 2011, 10:24 AM

QUOTE(luckyhillkop @ Jul 15 2011, 10:04 AM) I'm pretty sure 3.06 can cz i tried it once. Haven't tried in 3.08 but logically it should be able to. Are you sure? While 3.04 does you you answer if you search using coordinates but the answers are all wrong. Heck, it will even gives you several location based on 1 set of coordinates. LOL

Nokia owns Navteq right? And uese Navteq maps, right? So how come there are so many POI on Navteq maps but not on our phone's OVI maps? Or may be I don't know how to use it. http://mapreporter.navteq.com/
