i'm going to receive an item from my seller (which i previously purchased from him in the US) after servicing/repair. and it's still under warranty. I've already been charged the 10% sales tax the first time the item crossed the border here, and i don't wanna pay tax again when its returned to me. is there any declaration form or any document that my seller has to include to make sure that it doesn't get detained at customs again for tax??

ps: my item is a wooden flute worth about RM 1000, but its quite plain looking.. and can perhaps pass of as being worth a few hundred ringgit.here's a link: http://www.caseyburnsflutes.com/ff.php

thanks in advance.

Ask your seller to declare it as gift if the item is small.

You can ask the seller to declare it as

"Return from repair"

so it dont get taxed again
