this phone looks interesting ..

anybody can review a bit on the earpiece volume and speaker phone volume ?? is it soft as many of the internet reviews mentioned for the prototype unit ? since we talking about volume, might as well talk about the ringing too, i heard its LOUD !

apart from that, can go to Google map and do the rotation gesture, does it work ?

the wifi hotspot is infrastructure mode or adhoc mode ?

LVH works with this phone ?? I thought that app mainly only works with a few selected HTC phones

u can use titanium to remove those demo games

either that or u can use root explorer to remove it, go to system\app\demo*.apk

u mean you press r/w button on the root explorer but it is still read only ?? strange ..

do you know how to use adb ? try to see if adb remount works, if it works then u can remove the file via adb

sigh no fate with x5 today, seller brought it to my office with all the freebies and was happy for a while.

then when I started to examine the phone, found out that the unit is a lemon :-( . there is a gap between the screen and the chrome bezel on the top left and all the way down on the left side. luckily seller agree to bring another unit tomorrow.

hopefully it won't be another lemon ...

not sure its consider big or small, finger nails can go in I think. I ask the seller and he also agree that its not normal and he claim this is the first time he see this problem.

not only can see, can touch and glide a fingernail through it as well

no lar, not complaining ... just wondering if thats normal for this phone. I also agree that phones nowadays will have gap, doesnt matter china made or anywhere else. But since the seller himself also agree it should not be like that, then of course i request for change lor


good lar ! at least they acknowledge their problem and change a unit for u. Some even "branded" ones will tell u its not a problem and ask u to live with it.

first impression quite happy with the phone ... but a bit dissappointed cuz seller ask me go his shop in sunway to apply the screen protector cuz he forgot to bring

just signed in to google and synced my stuffs .. will use it stock for a few days before any root, rom and overclock hehe

this unit the screen still got gap but not as big as the unit yesterday and are more balance on both left n right

as for camera software, i previously use vignette on x10 and love it. It captures more detail than the ori x10 camera

I normally transfer stuff to/from laptop wirelessly cause most of the time my phone n laptop are on the same network. Go market download file expert and try out their web sharing or ftp sharing feature

How is the battery consumption for u guys?

I'm recording about 6-7 % per hour with wifi and data ON in standby mode. To me that is actually pretty high as my previous x10 only uses about 2 3% per hour in the same situation.

Investigating further, I notice that the phone actually doesn't goes into deep sleep for some reason. Wonder is it tthe same for u guys. Will try to investigate further to identify what is causing it. Shouldn't be third party apps as phone is still in stock form since day 1.

Saw a few people in xda notice the same problem as well, wonder if u guys can input some feedback. Stock or custom rom also can feedback.

Go market download CPU spy(free) and see your CPU usage, tell me what is your deep sleep data. Thanks.

Note : it mostly doesn't go into deep sleep after charging. If u reboot immediately after charging it will go into deep sleep (at least until it decide not to )

Seems like mine is the only one having problem. Will monitor longer and see what to do. Either factory reset or custom firmware haha.

Btw, when it is deep sleeping the battery drain is very little about 2 to 3 % per hour with wifi n data enabled.

The sound for me is loud enough, maybe its because i came from x10 where the volume for external speaker and earpiece is really low.
