Root the phone will only allow you to have the administrator's right, it won't bring any side effect nor impact to the battery life.

- go download the update.zip, put into the root folder in your sd card.
- restart the phone in recovery mode.
- run the zip file.
- restart again and you will see the superuser icon.

root your phone, install Root Explorer and open it, go into /cust/maxis/my/app, delete those demo games' installer. (remember to switch the access from "Mount R/O" to "Mount R/W")

you can switch it back to "Mount R/W" even after you entered into the /cust/maxis/my/app folder.

im having problem also to connect the bluetooth between my phone and my laptop, but have no issue to send/receive file with another phone.

besides, it got nothing to do whether the phone is rooted or not.

mine 1 was having the same problem.. and i took it back to claim warranty, it just 1 week old by that time...
then, it took me 4 working days to claim back a new 1.
