just got myself a x5 on last sunday .. been using it for 5 days and pretty decent phone i would say .. still remain unroot though .. would like to try the original taste of this phone 1st

1 question .. the battery seems to drain pretty fast .. i full charged on 12am .. remain untouch for 7 hours .. 7am woke up .. 65% left .. wat the heck !! anyone can give some guidelines on how to save battery usage?

Anyone know if Ideos is going to release 2.3 for the x5? And when? Also any custom roms being developed for the phone? Like on Xda?

Well, i suppose all android phone would have this android_secure on root of phone's ROM, some antivirus just recognized exe file as virus or something, doesnt show as virus on my pc though, my advise leave it be. 

Anyone tried using Papago X5 on the X5? Or any other GPS nav software? How is the satellite lock compared to other phones? Fast?

You have to root to uninstall the preloaded apps.

Agreed. Just flash the original boot.img back, then itll return to former state. Why would anyone want to unroot? Want to claim warranty perhaps?

Flashing original img files which u backup allowed u to return to out of the box status, essential for official OTA update and warranty claim purpose aka unroot and restore. 

Yep, the things which is different is significantly faster ext4 partition, superuser, dropbox and much more customize kernel which i think solved wifi signal drop problem and maybe overclockable ( not too sure about this ). 

For this, better wait for other users to tell you as I don't own this phone I owned a Galaxy Ace but never changed the file system... So yea....

Can't delete them still even with root explorer. The moment i enter /cust, the mount changes back to r/o and i cannot change it anymore^^;;

I think it was the fix patch that i used that made the pics relatively good, but most of the time I don't want to use my 5800 for anything much xD;
i hate taking with flash so maybe that's why my pics are 50-50

Anyway, I just installed Go Launcher and.... why does it keep hiding my phone calls?
Or is it now extra sensitive and reacting to my ear??

My advise would be wait for custom roms to be more mature for Ideos X5 as rooting itself wont bring too much impact performance wise, MIUI also collecting votes for developement of this phone, just patient.

If you don't mind me being frank.... The review sticks...........
1. Explain the bad points first........... Camera...... Materials for the design of the phone
2. Said as if its a ARM 6 phone (My opinion) ............ I mean when you say <1 Ghz, you better say its still can run flash... Its good they said the phone was lagless...
3. Graphic card? No mention of it... Didn't mention can play games smoothly or not......
4. Almost Clean Android - I see no mention of this.....
5. Benchmarks? I know benchmarks doesn't say much.... But for a budget phone that can beat its higher priced competitors in performance, why didn't you mention it?
6. Where is the battery life comments ar?

I can go on and on... But this review was lacking (to put it nicely)

FYI RRP is RM899..so rm40 for the 16gb is quite cheap right? 

finally my wife agree with my recommendation to get this phone but i still can't decide to get this phone locally at RM899 (no freebies but with local 2 years warranty..since there is no Huawie SC in Kota Bharu) or just get from LYN seller at RM850 + free postage + some freebies..i think worth at least RM50 

I just got a sony ericson bluetooth handsfree today. Tested with both my nokia xm5800 n ideos x5. It was crystal clear on my 5800 but on the x5 it sounds like cheap walkie talkie radio!!! Whats up with that??

also, how do u guys feel the sound is like when making a phone call? im afraid my phhaone maybe a bit faulty.....

Aiyoh, really kesian my U8800 being reviewed like that  No mention of its GPS, GPU, CPU, benchmarks or being compared to more expensive Ace and Galaxy SL
