flash rom and kernel
are 2 different things?
*
The flashing procedure is different. Flashing a new rom you have to wipe data, cache, dalvik cache. As for kernel, you just flash it in CWM, provided that the kernel is compatible with your rom.

about this viper, after i install and activate, i saw an phone icon on top left notification bar. does it charge for money if it connected??
*
If I'm not mistaken, it doesn't charge any money for using this app. It only uses your 3G or wifi. If you're on wifi, don't have to worry about reaching the monthly quota. But if your on data plan, have to use 3G watchdog or similar apps to monitor your data usage tho. Well, correct me if I'm wrong.

No, that franco.kernel isn't compatible with B137 FLB rom, but the kernel that comes with the FLB rom is pretty good as well. tongue.gif

This franco.kernel is pretty much improved from the previous void #draco's kernel. And as for what a custom kernel does, it provides you with overclocking ability, tweaks that improve things and so on. I suck at explaining things btw and that's all I know about kernel, and I maybe wrong. biggrin.gif

Nonono, the rom already comes with its own kernel. You don't need to flash anything else.

But if there're other custom kernels FOR YOUR ROM that you're interested in using it, you may flash it. It depends on you.

AFAIK, franco.kernel is ONLY compatible with MIUI, Oxygen and void roms.

Never use B137 so can't say much about it. I found void rom to be quite stable and clean as well. So far, everything works fine, no hang or whatsoever, at least for now. Loving it. biggrin.gif

Games I've only tested it with Cut The Rope and Fruit Ninja, no problems as well. thumbup.gif

fruit ninja no lag at all??!!

Last time when using void, it's laggy. But after flashing to MIUI for few days then flashed back to void, it's smooth enough and playable, even when using MIUI it was smooth. Not sure what happened. o.O"

Now trying to beat my friend's high score 600. tongue.gif

Download the suitable kernel for your rom, then go into CWM by pressing vol + and Power until you see the recovery menu, then select 'Install zip from SD Card', point it to the zip file that you downloaded and install. Viola! You're on new kernel. smile.gif

Talking about Fruit Ninja running smoothly now, reminds me the need to test Eternal Legacy where it always hang at the first battle. Hope it'll run fine. rclxub.gif

Bro, when you slice the fruits, do you always accidentally touched the home button? Haha. Kinda hate it. Lol. Any way to disable it?
*
Yea, always accidentally touched the button last time, but after awhile, you'll get used to it and wont be touching anywhere but the screen. biggrin.gif
Unfortunately there's no way to disable it. sad.gif

my friend did 1k tongue.gif  tongue.gif

which means if i flash to void
it will still lag?
1K...? That's crazy! rclxub.gif
It's hard to say. It might runs smoothly or might not. I tried it on MIUI and void rom, both running smoothly. So you have to try it and see the result for yourself. wink.gif

Edited: For those using B137 FLB rom, new update is out. B137 R4

Just a heads up, new update for MIUI has just released. rclxm9.gif

Changelog: 21/07/11

* Updated to latest Miui.US release (1.7.15)
* Camera improved, should work correctly for most. No video recording.
* Proper fix for buzzing audio, unfortunately breaks audio record again.
* Lots of small fixes for things I'd left out previously, probably not noticeable by most.

Link: Miui 1.7.15 (21/7/11) thanks to stockwell@XDA

Edited: Link added
