Clear: high transparency, anti-scratch
Matt: anti-glare, anti-reflect
Mirror: when lcd off, you can use it as a mirror, it's mirror finish
Privacy: prevent others from viewing the info from the screen

if data is on and standby on 3G/HSDPA , then it is possible, if data is off then something is draining the battery a bit bad
