anyone know what is the best document editor/viewer to replace the stupid stock document to go?
still nt able to find the best way to root, with the option to root and unroot as needed.

I tought this method: http://android.modaco.com/content/huawei-u...u8800-ideos-x5/

Can easily undo by replacing back original boot.img?

maybe when the official gingerbread is here, we might need to unroot to get the official update..
if it's as easy as replacing the boot.img, then I'll root it.. smile.gif will i need to reset the phone after i replace it?
I don't want to lose my contact/sms/apps/etc..

btw.. anyone know what this boot.img file is for?
*
I don't really know... But from the sounds of it... It looks like its a file which determines your kernel and other boot stuff (boot means startup)

I don;t think you need to reset... But don't take my words because I don't own this phone...

Lowyat Official Review

Apparently our phone has been reviewed by Lowyat! Check it out and see what you have to say about it!
*
If you don't mind me being frank.... The review sticks...........
1. Explain the bad points first........... Camera...... Materials for the design of the phone
2. Said as if its a ARM 6 phone (My opinion) ............ I mean when you say <1 Ghz, you better say its still can run flash... Its good they said the phone was lagless...
3. Graphic card? No mention of it... Didn't mention can play games smoothly or not......
4. Almost Clean Android - I see no mention of this.....
5. Benchmarks? I know benchmarks doesn't say much.... But for a budget phone that can beat its higher priced competitors in performance, why didn't you mention it?
6. Where is the battery life comments ar?

I can go on and on... But this review was lacking (to put it nicely)

I know bro... Was just pointing out that I didn't expect this quality of review... (its more of a preview)

just wondering, is the 800mhz sufficient for daily use + gaming? cause i'll be getting it on tuesday, and my gf is kinda used to my sgs's speed already ,so don't want her to get disappointed with this new phone, if its necessary i might oc it to 1ghz, but of coz worry of overheat issue

Doesn't SGS lag? Unless you're running lag fix or gingerbread...

for normal daily use, 800mhz is more than enough..
for gaming, depends on what kind of games we are talking here.. if it's high cpu n mem games, then it won't be sufficient..
u get what u r paying.. if u r looking for the speeds/etc like sgs, then u shld buy higher end phone..
better still.. sgs2 is coming out, but it cost at least 2+k, vs 850 for X5..
yr money, yr choice..

Just tested out SGS2 (a friend who has $$$ wants to buy, I have to test it out for him before he buys)
Gotta say a really good phone..... But really EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!

As shadow111 stated your money, your choice...

Im also waiting for SGS2 official release here and will compare to HTC sensation. I believe in 3 months time dual core will be cheap and widely available. No point getting them now as all expensive.
