Hrmm,which means the new china made sensor reading diff value??but i observe the whole operation while they change the crank sensor...they didnt on the engine and only try so crank and start after they finish installing everything..cos i think regardless of where it is being made,they should(crank sensor)give the same reading rite??anwyays,its a a sensor to read the crank..and i think since the mapping is being controlled by the ECU and there is no way the ECU relearn during the swapping process,therefore it should have given the same result(performance) after installing it rite??ahh...kinda  rclxub.gif
*
Not really. The readings may be off a bit, just a little bit. Yes, there's no way the ECU relearn during the swapping process, but if the crank sensor value is slightly different, the sensor may give different reading to the ECU. U understand what I'm saying?

Let's say u're an English teacher (ECU), and u have a UK student learning English from u (Original crank sensor). Everything goes by smoothly, this UK student can absorb everything and can give u perfect responses when u ask questions (Smooth engine, no underpower-feeling). And then this UK student 'graduated' (crank sensor kaput), and u have a new Chinese student (China made sensor). This Chinese student, his English skills (crank sensor specifications) are somewhat poorer than the UK student (underpowered engine). He can barely understand what u're saying, and couldn't give perfect response when u ask him questions. So after some time u lower ur teaching pace to his level (ECU relearn) and then he is able to catch up more quickly.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Jun 7 2011, 10:26 AM)
I'm wondering, why change nice looking sport rims and then use entry level tyres (no offense to Jynorip, talking abt general). IMO, tyres is one of the most overlook safety thingy by most ppl. No matter whether u got abs, extra makan braking system, etc, the only thing that keeps in contact with the road are tyres.

I've seen some highly modded cars, super nice, super expensive outlook with some even using brembo brakes and when i look at the tyres......pengsan liao, ue silverstone M5. I would rather leave the car unmodded, use the dough to get better tyres with more grips, not becoz i like performance but safety is still number one.

Probably its becoz its a wear and tear items and price are super expensive nowadays tho....

btw now at CoSE......darn no Lokatoo girl anymore...what I am gonna do...might have to wait wholeday for them to check, then call vendor to replace the side window.
*
Finally someone understand why I'm willing to fork out Rm 400+ for a piece of 215/45/17 tyre sweat.gif

QUOTE(pupumaru @ Jun 7 2011, 02:21 PM)
actually, since all already chatting about tyres and rims..

If i were to get 16" rims what are the things which i should know or recommended to get? Like the tyre specifications (got some no.s on it which i dun understand tongue.gif ) And the rims..the no. of spokes play a part?
*

Yup... It definitely plays a part.. It makes ur rim look nicer/uglier.. laugh.gif

Added on June 7, 2011, 3:32 pmBut seriously Pupumaru...

215/45/17 91W

215 = tyre width.
45 = tyre thickness (low/high profile?)
17 = tyre diameter (17 inch).

91 = max load/weight capacity.
W = Max speed rating.

Traction AA = Wet Grip rating.
Threadwear 220 = threadwear rating.

Have I missed out anything else? laugh.gif

Hey Xan,

Is it normal for my RS brake pads to have a metal sound or whistling sound when slow braking? Do I need to wait a little to longer for the sound to disappear?
*
Go skim the brake pads, the sides that are coming in contact with ur brake disc while braking. Doesn't cost as much as RM 70 lah, that's plain overkill. RM 60 can skim brake disc d. Shouldnt cost more than RM 30.

Hi guys .. need questions regarding the service interval.

I had service my car at odometer showed 1000, 6000 .. so the next service will be at odo 11000 ?  or 16000 ?

im confused here.

thanks
*
For the first 10k KMs, it's better to service ur car at 1000, 6000 & 11000 KMs as these are ur crucial break-in miles. After that, u can go on & use fully synthetic engine oil that can last 10000 KMs. Then u may schedule ur following service at 21000 KMs.

Not trying to be arrogant & sarcastic like what cho_petpet said about me last time, but..

English please.

Yes & no. Depending on which line u bought. B-line does not have foldable rear seats, thus B-line owners won't face this problem. The noise is caused by the hook & latch of the foldable seats, grinding when the car is travelling over uneven surfaces.
