At the front page of each thread, there is a list of "
Recommended SC" and I was surprised to see, sitting at the top, is World Car Care (http://worldcarcare.com.my/WorldCarCare.html). Other than "
able to bring own lube", what is the criteria used to say that this SC is eligible for "Recommended SC"?
I went to this SC recently for my car periodic service and frankly I cannot say that it is provides the "best customer service" (even if they allow you to bring your own lube). There were several shortcomings:-
1. The person at the counter who took down my list of complaints can't even spell basic words in English properly. As I watched her keying in my complaints into the PC, I was shocked at the number of typo errors. Worried that the mechanic may mis-interpret my complaints, I had to highlight and got her to rectify her typo errors.
2. One of my complaints was "whistling sound" during high speed. The person counter said that she will get the mechanic to sit in with me and we would do a test drive for me to point out the sound. This was not done and as I was waiting for someone to call me, I was surprised to see my car all serviced and my complaint on the sound "checked" (the sound is still here)
3. The so-called customer waiting area is too small and barely can accommodate 5 - 7 people comfortably (it is right in front of the counters so imagine the "congestion" and rather "uncomfortable" hearing previous customers complaining about work not done properly).
4. They were able to identify one of the problems that I had with my steering (weird sound when I turn to the left). But they did not had the parts at hand despite I was like the "80 plus" customer who had the same problem. Waiting period for replacement is about 1 month (still waiting). Shouldn't they be more prepared with the parts considering that it is one of the common problems that Persona is having (as mentioned by the guy at the counter)?
Overall, service quality was nothing to shout about - 2 of the problems I complained was not rectified despite the remarks "checked" on the service worksheet. As I went to collect my keys (by the way, they don't give you any acknowledgement when they collect your keys earlier unlike another SC where they give me an acknowledgement slip which must be presented to collect back the keys), the explanation on what has been done was on a "touch and go" basis. I had to ask what certain remarks on the worksheet and only then I get the explanation.
One good thing was they were strict to people who come in for service without making any appointments (to some extent), at least it is fair for those who take the trouble to make appointment and come early.
My criteria for "best SC" is listed below (inspired by my recent trip to 2 different SC and past trips to other SC for my old car and my wife's car) - it will be good if we have a standard criteria to judge which SC is considered the best out there. I am sure others like to hear about it too - after all, we expect to visit these SC every 5,000 km for the next 5 - 6 years:-
