snapfit for RG is fast n easy compare to MG since the inner frame is pre-assembled
but panel lining n decaling is a tough job since so small  sweat.gif
*
yeah. very true indeed. even painstakingly slow to do all the panel lines, once it's done, it look a lot better than MG laugh.gif

but some parts like the torso does feel a bit complicated to assemble compared to its MG sibling sweat.gif

Slow-slow build la better based on free time (usually weekend for me), i'm even slower but I really enjoy it. My last MG (GP03s) took me almost 4-5 months to complete (but still no dry transfer stickers and screws). Then u realise there is another warehouse sale and suddenly one more Mg in your house sweat.gif . Normally I assemble it when my children are sleeping blush.gif

BTW guys, What is the effect for not applying the screws? Its for protecting the joints (especially ankles) when doing the flying pose rite? hmm.gif
*
yes. I'd prefer slow build as well. can trim off those nub marks better.. or else later once fully assembled and then pose cun cun then notice some parts got untrimmed nub marks doh.gif

I spent some time for detailing as well, panel lining and putting on decals nod.gif

3 months? woa... must be a masterpiece!!! biggrin.gif

for mine, wasted alot of my time dealing with the nub marks... alot of cutting and sanding and still got some place need touch up with markers sad.gif
maybe my cutter too old d. need a new one.

anyone using the tamiya sharp point side cutter? is it really that good and justify the price?

racun on tamiya premium cutter is waaaayyy back on the previous pages laugh.gif

just finished my RG Aile Strike. lost that tiny little peg that should hold the beam rifle firmly on Strike's hand sweat.gif

Attached Image Attached Image

overall I can say it's a great experience assembling an RG kit. good colour separations, details and articulation, on par or can even exceed its MG counterpart and it's all in a 1/144 size. pretty quick assembly, but detailing and decals can take a little more time compared to MGs. I'm not gonna recommend this to a first time gunpla builder, but that depends on a person's own skill and sense of detail.

pros:
- very affordable
- good colour separation & articulation
- good proportions (some might think differently)
- superb details for 1/144 size kit thumbup.gif
- quick assembly
- not space-consuming to display (duh) whistling.gif

cons:
- joints can be a little loose after a few hours of playing around doh.gif
- panel lining can be a PITA
- too many decals sweat.gif
- chrome/gold decals look nice, but not that nice to put on/wouldn't stand much abuse shakehead.gif

and by the way;
