Anyone know if the official SME set is gonna be Tegra 2 or Exynos?

Based on GLBenchmark, the GT-i9103 is Tegra 2. That's about the only thing confirmed about the variant. I also got an email from Samsung AU confirming AU set will be Exynos + SAMOLED+. I wouldn't mind is SME brings in both, just like the SGS1 and SGS SL. But the difference is less pronounced with different displays. I for do want an Exynos set. By the way, how's the battery life when not used much (just retrieving push mail, etc). Engagdet review of Sensation gives it excellent life on standby. However, web-browsing is definitely not the buttery smooth SGS2 experience, but with qHD res, it looks like more horsepower is needer for that screen.

No disagreement on the Atrix benny. For one the Moto's software is nowhere near as polished as hTC ensures their products are. The display on the Atrix is pentile as well, just like the original SGS pretty much leaving users with a less then stellar display. Atrix is still stuck on Froyo as well and the under the hood tweaks the Gingerbread brings to SGS2 and Sensation are't there. Being a former Milestone user, switching to CM7 gave me a wonderful device to use after Moto basically crippled it. My current Desire on the other still flies compared to my SGS (still on stock) but I've enjoyed using Sense for almost a year now and I was hoping HTC would bring their A-game with the Sensation. To me it's the must have UMTS video calling which has pretty much made my decision on the SGS2. That and HTC crippling the Sensation by hiving it 1GB internal storage. SGS2 still rocks. Just hoping we get the Exynos official version
The price difference between the current AP sets and official is just too much. It's cheaper to buy from Handtec or Expansys in UK with shipping. But how's your battery life benny? It's a serious concern for me. Don't really want to have to carry around one of those portable microUSB chargers with the built in battery.

Case-mate Tough case is great. Trying getting it on eBay. The seller I buy from is pretty reliable. UK based. I'm using tough cases on my HTC Desire and SGS, extremely reliable. Protects the device well adds minimum bulk compared to a leather case or otterbox.

The edges of the tough case are raised about 2mm. This give a 2mm gap between any surface and the screen when placed face down. I still use a screen protector anyway. It won't protect the screen if you drop it face down on gravel or the road since there are defitinely sharp points greater than 2mm on these surfaces that could potentially hit the screen. I've had 1 incident myself dropping my Desire with the tough case face down un uneven surface, my SP got a nick, but the screen was fine underneath. The case absorbed most of the shock. Without the case, I guess my Deisre would be a right-off by now on the surface I dropped it.

I'm not here to promote it though. I love mine. They do the job, not much extra bulk, and most importanly to me, is the excellent grip the provide. Nothing like it.

I've been using my tough case on my Desire for about 8 months now. The silicon inner skin leaves no marks on the body of the device. It's absolutely clean and smooth whenever I need to take out of the case to access the sd card. Probably the best I've ever used. I use to adore Noreve leather cases (pricey but lovely), but I'll be sticking to my CM Tough cases because of the excellent protection offerred.

That's a good reason to get the SGS2 now while it's still the fastest droid around. We're probably gonna see a quad-core CPU and upgraded GPU and a qHD SAMOLED+ in the S3. But I doubt Sammy's gonna go beyond 4.3" on the display. So let's stop talking about the S3 and stick with the S2. I still haven't got mine yet Hoping official set is Exynos. Sure AP set would be less than official price by then, but still so long to wait.

Yup. Really hoping it's the same spec. Want Exynos + SAMOLED+ badly but don't want to pay the killer price most of the AP sellers asking now. Knowing the official price already, they should actually sell at the official price since all AP sets are normally cheaper than official set price as we the user are taking the risk of buying it without official warranty and only relying on the seller's warranty. Unlike Handtec where we can still send the unit back to them for official warranty repair (at shipment cost of course). But I'm not too worried about the device though. I've been using the SGS1 for almost a year now (got it a few days after official launch from Maxis), never had a problem with it so far (thank you God!). If anything, the SGS2 should have better build quality that the SGS1. Owners here want to weigh in on this?

If SME did that, it would not be a smart move. Launching now would be best. Get the eager market before competition arrives.

Whoah... I don't look in for a day the Sensation is available in Malaysia... saw the news on Soyacincau. Damn. SME better get the set released by this weekend. I may be tempted by the qHD SLCD. I kinda like the SLCD image on my Desire (for videos especially) compared my SGS SAMOLED. But I still want the SGS2 cause of the speed!

Try Launcher Pro Plus. It's got lots of nice Sense-like widgets.

Can. I bought my SGS 1 without plan. But you must already be a Maxis/Hotlink subscriber. Had to get prepaid pack just to buy the phone. But I still have the number, so planning to use it if Maxis got SGS2 exclusive first as well.

So long more to wait la. Why can't they launch it this weekend. Damn, 22nd June Wednesday la, working day. Can only go get it after work. Maxis KLCC better have it at.launch. So tempted by Sensation now with free offline GPS as well. Damn... only thing, HTC battery life sucks. Screen sucks too... need to occupy myself until 22nd la lile this.
