Case-mate Tough case is great. Trying getting it on eBay. The seller I buy from is pretty reliable. UK based. I'm using tough cases on my HTC Desire and SGS, extremely reliable. Protects the device well adds minimum bulk compared to a leather case or otterbox.

Looking at it, looks good. Doesn't protect the screen right?

The edges of the tough case are raised about 2mm. This give a 2mm gap between any surface and the screen when placed face down. I still use a screen protector anyway. It won't protect the screen if you drop it face down on gravel or the road since there are defitinely sharp points greater than 2mm on these surfaces that could potentially hit the screen. I've had 1 incident myself dropping my Desire with the tough case face down un uneven surface, my SP got a nick, but the screen was fine underneath. The case absorbed most of the shock. Without the case, I guess my Deisre would be a right-off by now on the surface I dropped it.

I'm not here to promote it though. I love mine. They do the job, not much extra bulk, and most importanly to me, is the excellent grip the provide. Nothing like it.

Thanks afadzil, so it looks like still need a screen protector even with case.

Any others here use their phone naked with only screen protector?

I've been using my tough case on my Desire for about 8 months now. The silicon inner skin leaves no marks on the body of the device. It's absolutely clean and smooth whenever I need to take out of the case to access the sd card. Probably the best I've ever used. I use to adore Noreve leather cases (pricey but lovely), but I'll be sticking to my CM Tough cases because of the excellent protection offerred.

You bought on ebay? I found (for example) this one http://cgi.ebay.com/CASE-MATE-BLACK-TOUGH-...=item2eb521cc05 but its 30 pounds, the case-mate website shows 30 USD and ships internationally, why buy from ebay then? hmm.gif

But on my Linux notebook I can use such modems. Maybe a custom kernel can enable, since the kernel (and thus drivers) should be compatible. Hope you like command-line though (not saying its for sure possible).

anyone wants to order the Case-Mate Tough casing for SGS2? i saw handtec offering 19.99 pounds but need to pre-order atm. Thinking of getting it

I already bought mine directly from case-mate website brows.gif just arrived 2 days back. Haven't even open, I waiting for phone...

Tip: If you got maybank account and some sort of credit/debit card on the maybank you can just create a paypal account and use that credit/debit card to purchase, no problem! Direct from case-mate I think more reliable than through 3rd-party.

may i know how much did you have to pay for the whole sum? i wanted one as well but no one selling yet. only got barely there coming soon from a trader.
*
I paid the price on their website direct convert from RM. Also include I think about 5 USD shipping fee. Total came up to 110-120 I think (can't remember exactly). Current website price is 34.99, I think not changed yet.

Considering a lot of the third-party selling direct USD-Pound (29 pounds or something stupid) and still have to pay shipping international, why not direct from manufacturer? Most of us got Maybank account if do online transaction anyway...

That is crazy drop. My unit averages 30% drop from midnight to 7am with active refresh and updates on email, rss, tweeter, newsfeed. If I switch off 3g it drops max 5% only
Suggest you monitor one more day. If similar results could be battery defective. It is unlikely WiFi sharing affects so much usage it should be about few % only when running in background
The last angeloM ROM disable this and not installed. You need to flash a separate zip from recovery to enable wifisharing

xda-devel got a few ppl complaining like crazy about this sort of battery life, overnight drain finish. I think its some suspend problem, probably better to go read it there as I don't brain it (and won't bother until I got phone in hand icon_rolleyes.gif )
