BTW I wonder if the bird flu has a great impact on Taipei. Seems to be so on certain news channels.

No wonder quite a few had their masks on.

so may i know which will be the suitable month? end of oct is that ok? still got sale during that period?
*
Oct is the last month for typhoon season n usually they will start selling winter clothings. Nov onwards will start to get cold and usually its the best time to visit dueto nice weather and no rain but due to cli ate change, this yr it seems to be raining quite alot according to the locals.

Just gotta try ur luck i suppose

Guys wanna ask is it compulsory to know mandarin if want to travel to Taiwan?

I heard there's literally a language barrier when travelling to Taiwan.
*
Yes, that is true.

Its even worse than shanghai if u try to communicate with them in english

Just back from countdown trip there. Not advisable to go during year end. All the famous places are packed with locals and tourists. Even the highway was jam from Taipei to Taichung. Wasted a lot of time in the car.
*
if only stay at taipei, will it still be ok?

i went there last year jan 2012 and i'm thinking of going there end of this year for the count down.

how's the atmosphere and the fireworks at the taipei tower?
amazing?
