If kenot speak mandarin, Hokkien is the nxt option bcos almost all ppl in Taipei can speak hokkien. Otheriwse i think Hakka should be OK too bcos their MRT also got hakka announcement wan although I haven't see ppl speak hakka there

One meat and 3 or 4 vege/side dish is a very common combination for 便当 over there.
I just like to sneak into the corporate canteen for lunch, can get 便当 for like 40 or 50 twd only.

what is 6-11? the shop izit on the main road of JiHe Street?

I will be going Taiwan this Sunday 8D7N, i will be visiting Taipei,Taizhong, kenting and KaoShiung, exciting but nervous because many things arranged too rush 
I have a few question with me, hope to get some advise:

1)I have prepared my USD with me, therefore i like to know that either taoyuan airport or money changer at taipei has better exchange rate?

2)I will be using THSR -高铁 to access most of the main city such as:
a) taipei - taizhong  (NT700/way)
b) taipei - Zuoying  (NT1490/way)
c) ZuoYing - Tao Yuan (NT1330/way)
The question is do i need to advance online booking for THSR ticket or just buy it on the spot will do?

3)Besides newyork2, Sogo, wufenpu, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, is there any other shooping area at taipei?

4)Since July is hot summer, so i skip most of the hot spring places such as wulai,xin bei tou, alishan, but should i give up? or is a "must" to visit?

5) Is there any special about National Palace museum at dansui station there.

6) Any device can be bought to detect the luggage weight?

u stayed in Windsor B&B? i found another one call Sunny Room, cheaper and look decent but still need to find reviews.

i wanted to go yeliu+jiufen+jin gua shi (include gold museum) but seems like not enough time for all. found a tour guide charging NTD2400 for 4 pax. if to choose between yeliu and gold museum, which one is more worth to go?

Just back from 6D5N taiwan. Travel during summer is definitely a pain. No mood to take photo, walk and tiring. But, it was fun. Taiwanese are very polite, friendly and helpful. Try to talk with them and you will shock how polite they are compare to malaysian. *different culture, education since they were young*

Review of my stay,

Taipei Homestay (9/10)
Pro: Very cheap, 5minutes walk to MRT, clean, friendly owner, near to famous breakfast shop.
Con: Located in a dark lorong(but well lit and safe)

Windsor B&B (Jiufen) (9.5/10)
Pro: Cozy, nice view, very friendly owner, 5 minutes walk to Jiufen street, flower tea and delicious breakfast provided
Con: Some unknown insects fly into balconi when u are enjoying nightview, sunrise etc

City Inn (XiMen) (9.5/10)
Pro: Cozy, clean, artistic room design, beside Ximen MRT station, friendly lobby staff,ipad and computer provided to go online
Con: Blue film provided (con if traveling with family, mayb pro for some couple)

Overall the trip was great. Like the way taiwanese speak, work, etc. but travel taiwan again during summer is NO NO for me

I mean where to collect the return ticket in taiwan ?

Just found air ticket (AA) to taiwan, RM174 one-way (ticket only), same price coming back.

This is ONE lousy place I been with Tour...
If anyone wants to visit Taiwan, AVOID TouRS!!!
They bring you to places to buy local stuffs at super high prices..
and brings you to eat things that isn't even Taiwan culture...

I find this place a "Tourist" orientated country where they commercialized on the Tourism industry so much so that they are providing "Cosmetic" holiday experience...

I don't know what I did there on a 7 Day 5 Night tour..
Night Markets, Hot Springs... Other than that, it's just sitting on bus averagely 5 Hours a day travelling different parts of Taiwan..

I rather spend RM3k going to any secluded island at Sabah/Sarawak or Thai/Indon..
