Guys, which online comic store would you recommend that I buy from which is safe, reliable and wont kena 'tahan' by customs. I've been following this thread the past week and see that most would buy online as local comic stores do charge at a premium (which i understand to support their business).

As for DC's new 52, if buying online is only RM300 and more, I'm definitely interested. I just ordered all 52 from Comic's Corner and at local Msian cover price, its going to set me back close to RM1k. I dont have much money so now looking for alternative to buying my comics (Eric dont know where you get your stock la haha). I only collect all Top Cow and Aspen comics and most DC titles with some Marvel smile.gif

is there another STGCC at year end? I thought this august was the main one. I was thinking of going but financially may not be the right time. plus this year seems smaller, not much artist or writers going, so i'm thinking whether or not to go. last year was at least much better in terms of the guest list

Anyone collected Ultimate Comics X 5-issues series?  How is it?
*
I collected that too, but had to wait quite a while for each issue to be released. Agreed that the art is good and story was not bad, but felt that the final 2 issues were done in a rush. the art was there, but story was kinda rushed.

Just wondering, anyone ordered from mycomicshop.com before? I'm planning to order a bunch of old comics to complete some of my old collection since the price they quoted are kinda cheap

Those are very good collection rclxms.gif . Hard to find in Malaysia, even if u can find, its not cheap as ppl are demanding a premium. Just keep it if ur a comic collector smile.gif

I think I also need to find time to take some photos of my collection from 90s till now tongue.gif

I would link comics to hobby and your passion. I've been collecting comics for the past 20 years and only when I started working, I started to buy more compared to when I was still in school (cos now got salary ma biggrin.gif ). I would agree that the comics industry is slowly dying compared to 15 years ago when there were a lot of comic shops around but thankfully a handful is still around KL. My monthly spend on comics is a few hundredon like 20 or so titles depending on story and art. So give it a try and just set aside a monthly budget for your comics and you will definitely enjoy this hobby rclxms.gif

For those that liked the Avengers movie, I would agree with the other collectors here and definitely recommend you pick up the Ultimates smile.gif

I get my monthly top cow and aspen titles from comics corner in bangsar. however you need to order them as not many ppl read top cow. they should have some extras in the subang branch smile.gif

Thanks lykiat.

I have been out of touch with comics for a while. I have Witchblade, Darkness, Fathom, Soulfire, etc from beginning but stopped after Michael Turner passed away. I like Michael's drawings alot. I even bought other titles drawn by him like Batman, Superman, etc.

Rediscovering them again nowadays and still like Top Cow and Aspen as they produce great work of art.

How about you? What are the titles that you are still following?
*
I follow ALL Top Cow and Aspen comics and now also included DC comics on a monthly basis with some Marvel in the mix. Hadijalil has a lot of 'special' top cow comics, so you may want to check out his list again.

My opinion is to order the latest soulfire cos the art should be good. Depending on what Aspen comics you want, I may have some extras as I collect all their covers biggrin.gif Its rare to find someone who likes TopCow and Aspen as much as me to be honest haha rclxms.gif

Sorry Hadijalil, I already have all those Top Cow titles that you are selling. I am a very very old man and start collecting comics since Top Cow was formed...so you can imagine the amount of comics I have  icon_question.gif

I even have those sell out titles like Rising Stars, The Authority, Fables, etc.

Lykiat, talk about collecting extras, I too have so many duplicate copies. Don't even get me started on the variants! Image, Top Cow and Aspen...they really like to issue variants, boy did I waste $$ on them last time. I even have the Museum Editions of Darkness and Witchblade.  Not to mentioned, signed copies of Michael Turner's Fathom.

When you suggested Soulfire, do you mean the upcoming Volume 4 of Soulfire by Mike DeBalfo (I checked Aspen website)? I don't know this artist, can't tell whether his artworks are nice? I love great artworks more than storyline.
That's why Michael Turner was my favorite artist. Another favorite artist of mine is David Finch - who did Ascension.  Of course, Marc Silvestri is also my favorite.

May I know how much a comic cost (in RM) nowadays?  blush.gif
*
Yea its Mike DeBalfo. He's basically attached to zenescope comics where they draw pretty decent comics of girls, so I'm expecting the art to be decent. Soulfire Volume 3 was not too bad, it started out good but towards the last few issues, the art kinda went down a little, I think the artist (Jason Fabok) got too many other offers from DC - he did Dark Knight and prob some other batman titles.

I guess you're one Top Cow hero, I thought I was nuts collecting all the Top Cow comics but you seem to have a bigger collection than mine. rclxms.gif If you have any special extras, you can always sell or trade them over to me icon_rolleyes.gif
