based on the barcode, it looks like it's the newsstand edition

maybe they handle the local newsstand distribution for Marvel?

@cjlio1

i dont think they printed the issue, it would not be cost effective to print in low quantities.

@munchoong

yup, all Marvel subscription issues are news stand edition. Its a possibility they are the local distributor just you said.

a short review of AMZ #800 ;

i'm glad that the whole 80 page is dedicated to only one story. An old character died in this issue and gets a beautiful sent off.

take care of them newsstand editions

collectors are now considering them variants, and due to their significantly lower print run and difficulty in obtaining copies without stickers or creases, they can be worth quite a bit to the right collectors wink.gif

I'm doing this for a friend. He's selling some of his comics. I can post the picture here if it's possible (already watermark with price).

Newstand editions in 9.0 and above command almost double the price of a direct to reseller edition of similar grade

As newstand are usually sent to a local newstand with the damage typically due to casual browsing by the non comic collectors (idiots that dont know how to take care of comics) and low print runs makes these editions valuable indeed

also look out for foreign currency edition of the common newstand book i.e. a new mutants vol1 issue 98 newstand edition with a AUD instead of a US for the pricing is very rare

Last I bought were issues 965-968 cos it ties in to the Mr Oz and Super Sons of Tomorrow storylines over at Action Comics and Superman.

Haven't read the rest... but yeah, they are pretty good. Certainly the best in many years, although not quite at the same high standards as the Alan Grant / Norm Breyfogle run in the 1990s.

Has anyone here been to Sun Comics at Sungai Wang, KL before? If so, do they sell any Marvel and DC comics? They had a shop in Curve but it closed down.

there has never been a brick and mortar shop that sells omputeh comics since like forever

most of the shops either closed or just take in pre orders where you need to pay upfront first
you order comes and it is damaged, too bad suck it up and move on

only place that i know that still have books on the shelves but a bit randomly is Kino in KLCC
else you gotta goto Singapore
