Nice collection you have there ggMing. Mind sharing some pics and your setup?
Am keen on getting some Channa Bleheri to go into my community tank. Absolutely love this dwarf species.

seems quite little snake head kakis...been a admirer of the great Channa Micropeltes, but size is an issues as pet for me...on and off I did keep some like channa lucius, the common channa striata and some wild caught/fish, currently with one piece:

Channa Gachua

Might add a piece of channa pulchra since I saw it available in my lfs at RM 33

An interesting aggresive creature to see when they whack their prey like frog smile.gif

Oh alright... why not try Macs also? I've read it's a tough task to handle their requirements ler. And costly of course.

so common nowadays, and yes, the requirement scared me off, I'm a lazy fella who don't do water change, setup a bio tank with the cycle of ammonia neutralized by plants and bacteria...my tank water? 3 years without a single drip sucked out, so that explain why sweat.gif , water ph and temperature wise, I can do it without any electronic help

and probably personal behaviour as I like things that are unique yet not cared/bothered by others, mac, too many fans(many have no idea how to handle it nod.gif ), in other species, I see the need to "help" them as I appreciate their beauties that many don't see

My favorite channa are:
-Channa Aurantimaculata
-Channa Bleheri
-Channa marulioides

How you keep your Channa Aurantimaculata?
What is your water tempreture for your Channa Aurantimaculata tank?
I used to love Channa Aurantimaculata but they are subtropical fish so i can't keep them because i got no water chiller...

I had caught in many places around Selangor..I only managed to catch haruans and tomans but no bujuk..tomans are so easy to catch in wild ponds and mining area around batang berjuntai..the juveniles are very easy target as they are aggressive and not as clever as the bigger fishes..i always release back all the tomans that I caught,I only bring back big haruans..the place that i use to fish is undergoing new housing project..i hope i can catch some big ones before they close the pond..

Added on December 26, 2012, 9:51 amI've been to PJ Old Town fish shop but they keep toman bunga and harimau only..bujuk is different,it has batik like markings in its body..

Added on December 27, 2012, 11:12 amNice fish.. I kept one before for about 7 years, it grew about 3 feet and died..

toman harimau is actually c.micro juvi..the stripes will go away as they grow..c.micro and c.diplo they look kinda same tbh..i also dont know how to differentiate these two but from the images c.diplo seem to have very interesting pattern on its body @.@..toman bunga aka emperor snakehead aka c.marulioides

I've been trying to buy some toman, or the kerandang (goldish toman) for a while, had a few huge ones back in the day. Mostly caught by my dad, even had a pretty big bujuk but it killed itself trying to eat the surrounding puyu instead of the frogs.

I did manage to find 1 small kerandang a while back, but somehow it managed to gorge itself to death by eating too much. So I'm looking for another one but most of the shops i went don't have any more. Any advice where to get some would be appreciated.

It's been a long time i had never came here.
Today is their first anniversary in my house.
This is my third time to keep Channa Auranti so i hope they can continue to grow and live healthy.

Here their photos on Oct 2013 (Pair shots)

Might add a piece of channa pulchra since I saw it available in my lfs at RM 33

An interesting aggresive creature to see when they whack their prey like frog smile.gif
