any mothers during their 16-18 weeks pregnancy carry out this test? it's a screen test to indicate the risk of the baby affected with Down syndrome.
i read it's just to see if the risk is high or low and the cutting point is 1/270. anything greater than 1/270 is consider high risk.
if you're in the high risk category, this does not mean your baby is confirm a down syndrome. sometimes those with low risk also can have a Down baby.

The test is safe 4 u and ur unborn bb..Dr will recommend this test only if you have high risk factor to hv down syndrome bb. Triple Blood Test Info

Sure you can test. But what's the benefit of knowing? Will you abort the baby? If not then it will only make you more worrisome.

Think positively. Even when it's 1/20, you just gotta think of the positive. Although better safe than sorry, but we often overlook that we in fact still in a healthy 95% probability of a healthy normal baby.

I didn't go for any tests to see if my son was in the high or low risk group as I didn't want to worry throughout my pregnancy.
