QUOTE(shdwkillr @ Jul 6 2011, 05:54 PM) hmm.. googled tokina 11-16 and wow, it's really a nice wide-angle lens.. now my question is, if you bring just this tokina 11-16, will you be able to take photos like food and some close up shots? great wide angle lens but not the best.. i owned this lens and sold it after a year. the CA is not that good..hmm.. then what do you think will be a good lens for me to take landscape + food photography while I'm in New Zealand? QUOTE(shdwkillr @ Jul 7 2011, 11:49 AM) hmm.. initially I was thinking about the AF-S 50mm f/1.8G but due to it's narrowness, if I were to use it to take family portrait photos in New Zealand, it will not be able to cover much of the background scenery, right? For me I will stick with zoom lens 18-105/18-200/16-85/17-55 lens for travel. 50mm is too narrow. I would rather go for 35mm... i don't think you need flash for travel use unless indoor like having dinner or clubbing at night..Between the AF-S 50mm f/1.8G and the SB-700 flash, which one do you all think is a more suitable investment for a trip to New Zealand (I can't buy both)? Added on July 7, 2011, 12:07 pm QUOTE(faareast @ Jul 7 2011, 12:04 PM) I don't really like too much PP.. maybe my PC is too slow to load photoshop.. i still miss this lens.. i like the angle but not the colour.. 14-24 f/2.8 will be in my whishlist now.. but look at the price!! QUOTE(shdwkillr @ Jul 7 2011, 12:15 PM) So you mean I should just stay with my 18-105 kits without investing in any other lens for my New Zealand trip? (I can have budget of up to around RM800). My main purpose is really to take nice landscape, family portraits and food and buildings photos in New Zealand. Kindly please advice. yes.. 18-105 is all in for landscape (might use 18-105mm), family portraits (might use 18-105), food (might use 18-105), buildings (might use 18-105). wow! it's such a great lens!trust me.. 18-105 is very good zoom range for travel use.. rather keep your rm800 for nice food and beer! if you can't keep the rm800 in your pocket and must spend it you may consider sb600 speedlight then.. |

QUOTE(Devil_J @ Jul 7 2011, 09:12 PM) ahh.. so it's really hard to take a nice front focus photo with what i wanted huh? the difference is the zoom range and aperture... 18-200 have wider aperture at 200mm which is f/5.6..BTW, can i know what is the different between 18-105 and 18-200 beside the zoom range? will the 18-200 focus better or anything else? Cheers you can compare and read the review in the website below between these 2 lenses http://www.slrgear.com/reviews/showcat.php/cat/13 |

QUOTE(kokokranc @ Jul 8 2011, 12:01 AM) dear bros, can show exif data?just now i went to TGG airport to catch AK flight, but luckily, an F-28 Fellowship was about to take off when i arrived. this picture is as sharp as I can get. how to get really sharp pictures? i panned manually for this. is this the camera or the lens's fault? or is it just my handshake? i am using D3100 & Sigma 10-300mm APO DG macro. hmm macro lenses not suitable for this type of photograph? ![]() |

You should use faster shutter speed and lower aperture example f/11.. the shutter speed should be at least 1/400

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Jul 8 2011, 04:14 PM) Kenko is a well-known filter manufacturer? I always have a bad thought that their filter is cheap quality stuff. Am sorry for that Kenko, Hoya and Tokina are same company call THK. The reason why Kenko is cheaper because it is in different range.. same like Toyota and LexusI only invest the lens that I need |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 13 2011, 05:32 PM) Jennifer Foh / Soh? i'm still not used to it.. previously was using d90 and recently got d300s from my friend.. he hardly use the shutter still fresh.. my camera will shake when i press the shutter.. lol.. have to get use to it..She is Carace btw. Are you comparing to the 'silver shutter button' models? Cause D7000 like the higher end models uses the black squishy type of shutter button. I prefer this kinda feel as it isn't as hard and more sensitive, can avoid camera shake when pressing shutter. |
