I think the all lenses will work on modern DSLR with full AF. But need to factor in 1.5x crop.

As expected, the lenses are all infected with fungus..worst is the 70-300mm lense..can see spots in the middle since can open the aperture fully...while web like substance in the edge, by products of the fungus I think..

is it safe to reuse the backpack which I store the lenses? it's a lowepro and I don't feel like ditching it.
*
if the fungus doesnt effect the image outcome then it's as good as the normal one! icon_rolleyes.gif

well, u can always go search for D90, D7000 or perhaps D300 sensor.
i'm sure u'll get a few hits that say they're all from Sony which are made in japan.
*
yup, i searched last time and found out they only ASSEMBLES the body in Thailand..
but parts and sensor especially are from Japan

thanks, very informative smile.gif i heard there's a shop sell them for only 650 for the nifty fifty, might as well re-read earlier post.
yeah but well the new one look more robust and had that G there, should be something catchy behind it right? the price aren't that far away from the normal D version. that is why i'm still contemplated on which one to buy.  sweat.gif
*
Nothing catchy.. They just installed a motor inside which will let the lens AF with body w/out motor like d40, d60, d3x00, d5x00

If u can manage to get few hundreds more then u can get 50mm f1.4 already..
And flash (ie ur preferred sb700) is a must because believe me, with flash it's like a shortcut to exposure heaven (if u know how to manage it well) rather than sepending on available light all the time

Oh I see.. Smoother bokeh. Then I might as if anyone have the lens can make a side-by-side comparison for it?
Maybe the glass/coating is better somehow..

So in a way (in technical terms) the 50f18G is better than the 85f14G and 35f14G?

Haven't got a chance to see the comparison yet..

So for the an Average Joe like me, won't have much different in final picture?

Btw, I'm still thinking to take the 85f14 or 85f18. In that range the bokeh doesn't give much different right? Just that the f14 is a stop faster?

ani sifu can teach me a bit of studio lighting...?
as i plan to set up or own a portable studio lightning...

does 2 sb-900 sufficient for studio lighting...?
as i see studio lighting mostly consist at least a yellow light...
not planning to buy extra things if possible...
btw...
backdrop is not neccessary...
maybe i nid to buy a softbox & an umbrella...?
thx in advance...
*
for studio lighting u can have the portable flashes or studio lights..

softbox is a good light modifier, smoothens the overall light..
i might say that 'IT'S A MUST' for studio shots~

D300s is APC-S so 24mm won't be wide enough..
If u're looking for wide then the 17-55 is a good one..
Or wider go for 12-24 lah.. But won't be enough for walkabout

If u're looking for walk-about lens then the 18-200VR is a very2 good lens.. Sharp and reliable focus.. 18105VR also very good

Third party then u can opt for the Tokina 16-50, or tamron17-50

18-200VR can do bokeh? qt confuse with those aperture things.. greater aperture, greater bokeh bla bla bla~

wanna find some lens that have combination of good bokeh, wide and sharp..
*
Bokeh doesn't comes from big aperture alone..
Relative distance is also important..
For example taking a head shot with 200mm even at f5.6 will create bokeh nicer than using 50mm f2 with the same cropping style
This is totally my opinion, because u can try and take the pics like I say above and see for urself
The distance u use to get 200mm will make the bkground easier to control because a step to the right/left will make the bokeh bkground looks totally different, something u can't get when u're just standing 1metre away when using the 50mm (rough measurement)
I'd like to throw u an example but now not in front of my computer.using Blackberry only..

Cool, thnks for the inputs biggrin.gif , ill be careful with wide aperture
i agreed what u say maybe i shldnt rush, ill use my kit as much as possible if low light kills me will use 35mm biggrin.gif
*
If low light kills u, use higher iso, or get a flashgun bro..

I guess, short focal length won't need VR so much..
