nice use of flash,  off shoe wan ?
*
Yeap, off flash. No choice cause it was after sunset. If pump ISO the feel is kinda crappy sad.gif No mood to the photo.

Example if no flash... taken by another photographer present there.

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ May 31 2011, 10:50 AM)

i believe hes talking about voltage issues that may harm the cam, that may happen with using 3rd party stuff.
*
True, I read before some D90 getting damaged due to using third party grip before.

Don't remember the link, but back then was deciding between Nikon or third party I did came across it.

if not mistaken my friend using D90 phottix and seems okay...
*
Sure, some people is ok. But when you have problem due to third party grip then you gonna start complaining?

If one can accept the fact that using third party is risky, then go ahead. Although chances is low, but its still there ;-)

also its really no point saving around rm100 for a 3rd party grip, when you already spent way more for the dslr.
unless of cos ur dslr got no official grip.
some 3rd party grips are also badly designed, i tried one for the D3100 couple weeks ago...damn shutter button so far away.
*
Yeah, agreed. Pay so much for the body, but to save a bit with third party grip =/

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jun 1 2011, 10:30 AM)
Yeah damn nice.
I want con money to get this also  icon_idea.gif
nice , your flash was set to M or TTL ?
did you trial and error many times before to get the right flash exposure ?

what is the time around you shoot this picture ?
*
Nope, single shot only for this. Was using TTL through the commander. Actually a bit earlier I still call pump ISO for it, but the color contrast sucks.. cause everything is bright lol. Was not prepared for this anyways, so just used my SB900 with a VAL (voice activated lightstand tongue.gif) to shoot lor... could have been much better if I was prepared with 2 light stands and 2 flash instead.

Time taken as per EXIF is May 29, 2011 at 7.27pm MYT

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Jun 1 2011, 10:34 AM)
How often you guys use the horizon indicator? Izzit only available in D7000 or all models have it? unsure.gif

I assigned that to my Fn button and sometime it made me searching for it when I'm holding the grip laugh.gif doh.gif
*
Grid you mean? I use grid all the time. Or is it the meter for horizon one?

I like the lighting but IMO, I think I rather have the full figure of the model while maintaining the same framing (model on the left side) or if not, maintain same framing (model on the left side) but zoom in closer from stomach upwards and include the background on top right.
*
Understand the first point, but for second point I don't quite get it. Do you mean from a lower angle?

Thanks for the feedback smile.gif.

yeah looks like it sad.gif

Guess the only time where you can take pic inside the track is during Malaysian Super Series race. IIRC photog pass is only RM50 and they will return back the money once race over or something like that lol laugh.gif

Thinking of following my friend next month if his brother join the race again smile.gif
*
That means it is FOC, cause RM50 is just to rent the orange vest (for photog) as a deposit.

Ditto biggrin.gif

Even the cheap fancier tripod is stable to my surprised, tried mount my D90+80200+SB900 and the ball head can handle the weight. Didnt slide down or anything which I find amazing for such a cheap tripod ohmy.gif but heavy as heck though laugh.gif
*
From my limited experience with ballhead, I have one cheapo Victory ballhead that came with the tripod versus a Manfrotto 498RC2. Basically, the cheapo ballhead can hold my tripod... but the big differences is its easier to get the composition I want with the manfrotto... easier to compose as after you tighten it doesn't move like the cheapo ballhead.

When you use a monopod, you don't need a ballhead. You just screw the monopod directly to the lens foot. It's more secured. You usually carry the lens + body + monopod by holding the monopod.
*
Was talking about tripod smile.gif, somehow I like using ballhead on monopod tongue.gif.

The other way was using friend's with a ball head.

you ever heard of camera being spoilt by reliable 3rd party battery ?
i been using phottix one no problem at all  biggrin.gif
*
Google around, you'll find them smile.gif

Well, if you don't have any issue count yourself lucky. I won't take the risk for sure. Only stuffs I will use third party is probably those that doesn't affect my gears. Example, filter? tongue.gif I don't use Nikon's haha!

It isn't plastic... grips like MB-D80 then is plastic.. can feel the differences immediately when you hold it biggrin.gif.
