my frens who talk big that he bought cheaper flash with same power now regreting after his 866 hardly to fire nowaday. my sb900 shoot like hell, dont know how many time had overheat issue, had felt down once because football hit it. still working well

i try to get a 85mm f1.8 or Sigma 50mm f1.4.. there price in tat range that i prefer.

You'll be thankful to SB-900 when you meet with high ceiling, for example a big ballroom or hall

That's y I wonder how ppl go overheat with the SB900, I always see those ppl, point the flash 90deg up in the air, where the ceiling is 5 floors up, or even outdoors without ceiling, what's the point doing that? Some act pro, point the the back where there's no wall to bounce even, I am laughing like mad when seeing those act pro try to be different ppl....

last time in c2age duno saw which "pro" , her flash gun is point backward and i dont know where the flash gun bounce...end up just flashed my eyes when i passby

In my other comment, I mentioned that some fill light from the flash would be awesome. This is another example unfortunately.

To get the exposure on the face correct, the white tank top goes very close to blowing the whites.

If you want to rely solely on ambient light, you need a reflector to re-direct the light.
Perhaps it's a good way to clear people around you.

90 degree upward bounce has it's limits. Like Kent3888 mentioned, if the ceiling is 5 floors high, you won't get any bounce effect. You'll only get direct light from the side of the flash.

at ISO1600 ,
and the part not well lighted,
more or less will at least noise.
Indeed not really sharp for most of pixel peeper.

my fren using 16-35 & 85G oso kena...
can see lots of unexpected noise...
iso not more den 1600...
with flash somemore...
is there ani update nid to be done...?
