QUOTE(bteoh @ May 26 2011, 07:30 PM) When my mother house first use Amway in 2000 is the only company in Malaysia Certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standards 42, and 53NSF/ANSI Standard 42: Drinking Water Treatment Units - Aesthetic Effects Overview: This standard covers point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) systems designed to reduce specific aesthetic or non-health-related contaminants (chlorine, taste and odor, and particulates) that may be present in public or private drinking water. NSF/ANSI Standard 53: Drinking Water Treatment Units - Health Effects Overview: Standard 53 addresses point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) systems designed to reduce specific health-related contaminants, such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, lead, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), MTBE (methyl tertiary-butyl ether), that may be present in public or private drinking water. http://www.nsf.org/business/drinking_water...t/standards.asp Panasonic, cause i am looking for Alkaline filter and its been there for many years, the filter is also NSF certified but i can't find the number yet. Some so call famous brand in Malaysia some years back got shot down in Hong Kong, so i band this brand for what kind of things they sell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZFInTHhMKs&feature=related This are all my personal opinion. Added on May 26, 2011, 8:23 pmOh, forgot to add Amway also have standard 55. This post has been edited by weikee: May 26 2011, 08:23 PM |

Every filter have maintenance, the more filtration it have inside will need more $$$ for replacement.
My mom house we have 2 filter, the big filter outside, and the smaller Amway filter inside. When we first start with the big sand filter outside + Amway inside we got to change the Amway filter very frequent, and notice the sand filter was not really doing good filtering job. Early last year we change the sand filter to the fiber filter, is smaller and no restriction on water pressure. So far after nearly 13 months of using we did not change the Amway filter. The fiber filter need to be flush daily via a installed auto flush system. So we save on Amway filter, waist the water for back flush. |

QUOTE(ivn79 @ Jun 16 2011, 02:37 PM) Depending which model you choose, stated in the product specs... Last i calculate the rental of similar bring during fair is actually more expensive than getting one + some extra filters from a reputable brand. You can go to Coway website http://www.coway.com.my/ProductOverview.aspx?CID=1 Cheers! |

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Feb 29 2012, 01:23 AM) drink so clean water... No need to drink very clean like RO. But for Malaysia water is way too dirty with lots of dirt / soil in the water. Piping too old.will it actually make you more healthy ? since it might remove some bacteria/mineral that might be good or something like that.. eg last time say RO water good, now say RO water not good cause empty no mineral that the body need and etc etc etc.. |

QUOTE(tehtmc @ Feb 29 2012, 10:09 AM) Actually the water quality varies from state to state. When I travel to some of our office branch in other country, I don't boil water, drink direct from the tap. All the office staff do the same.In Klang Valley, the chlorine content is significantly higher and water is not so clear. In Perak, the water is relatively clean. Just boil the water and it will be safe, no need for expensive filters. |

I am using indoor and outdoor 3M, my kids drink direct from the indoor (she is 5+) and sometime my young toddle also drink direct. Make sure the internal filter water are coming direct from the source (not storage tank), because from the the source it have chlorine to kill most of the bacterial. Storage water need to be boiled or UV cured because bacterial may growth when the water aged inside the storage.
My initial plan is to get eSpring, but due to budget i move to 3M. So far so good. |
