Yes and No... All apps will be installed in EXT partition in SD-Card instead of Data folder in phone memory... If you perform full wipe usually CWM will clean app2sd partition... but if you format system only (same case for update ROM without full wipe) all the data will be there...

App2sd basically move you data folder from internal memory to external memory... That why it is recommended to use with higher class SD-Card...
*
So when I need to perform a Full Wipe when I'm installing a new rom, I'll need to wipe the EXT partition as well? Or is formatting the system alone equivalent?

Full wipe is recommended to avoid FC issue... But you can try...
*
Ahh, I see. So it's the same as if I didn't partition the SD card and performed a system format then? The purpose is just to extend the internal memory. I was hoping it'd create a way for me to not have to reinstall my apps everytime I full wipe..

Hi TwoJay, please share with me how to install skype?
*
It isn't available from out market. You can search on the internet for the Skype .apk file and transfer it to your phone and then install it

Or if your phone is rooted, you can use this app called 'MarketEnabler' to emulate a US Sim and download it from their market.

How about Nimbuzz/Fring?
*
Haven't used it, but just try finding it in the market, it should be there. If it isn't, follow the same steps as Skype. The reason this happens is that some apps aren't available through the market in certain regions, although they may work fine.

Thanks for all the suggestion, i have downloaded Skype .apk now trying to install, i have copied the file in Micro SD under DOWNLOAD folder... 1 Noob question, may i know how to access folder in memory card?
*
You'll have to use a file browser. Try ES File Explorer, that's what I use. Before you can install the .apk, you have to enable installation of non-market apps. Go to Settings/Applications and tick the 'Unknown Sources' option. Then use the file browser to open the .apk.

You mean you want to video call? 3g does NOT equal video calling.

As mentioned above, try Fring?

How to make video call using HTC desire HD??? Without front camera..
*
Can't video call as normal. But I'm guessing Fring can use the back camera since someone mentioned it above? Although yes, it'd be pretty weird to video call considering you can't actually see the screen while looking into the camera..

Which is our DHD also cannot support..? Oh, so at the moment your app are developed for tablet device only..?

But AFAIK, our device heap size is around 32m to 38m something, around that.  nod.gif

Edit: If you said only work on devices with 32mb above, DHD consider ok..? Maybe some of us can be a beta tester.  brows.gif  laugh.gif

QUOTE(albnok @ Jun 14 2011, 01:40 AM)
syuki: The Desire HD would support it as it is, if you say it has >24MB. Layout and all is fine. However, other phones with 24MB heap would not support the app in its current state.

I cannot set the market filter to "devices with 32MB of heap or more" unfortunately. sad.gif So the only way for now is to allow 'large' and 'xlarge' but not 'small' or 'normal' screens, based on the assumption that 'large' screens get 48MB, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7".

A normal 320x480 screen would have 16MB heap (HTC Dream). A 480x800 screen would have (at least) 24MB heap (Nexus One).

Also, how is it on CyanogenMod 7? I can only choose 12MB, 16MB, 24MB or 32MB heap on my HTC Desire. Do you guys get more options, like 38MB or 48MB?

TwoJay: Thanks for your offer, but I am not sure if I can decide that since I am just an employee of a company. sad.gif

Currently on latest ARHD. Whenever I try to flash a leedroid kernel, I can't play videos(youtube/web browser). Tried with the 3.1.5 and 3.1.6 kernels. It works fine on the default kernel. Any ideas?
