hi,

was wondering for water heater and air-con, do you trust the shops that you see by the main road there to install water heater and air-con for you ? Will that shop simply hire another person(from other place) to install your water heater or air-con which might pose electrical dangers ?

do share your experience...

yup, that's what majority of customers are complaining, then the customers when cant contact the plumber, they have to go back to the shop where they buy their air-con or water heater. so, do you get me ? those shops that are mushrooming in puchong like nobody business, examples like top ten, or any shop lah that sell along the main road ones. anyone ???

sigh, these days, those who tak layak to do the work also say can do....teruk. and those shops selling water heater, simply ask any pak belalang, mak gajah to do the work.

Just to share with everyone here.

When you install water heater, it run 15Amps if is turn to the Max heat. If you want to take the power from a socket for water heater please don't share it with any other appliances, especially A/C or Hair Dryer.

If you need to share, please make sure the water heater are not running when the other appliances is running. If not you risk of blowing the fuse or even worse, burn the house.

Installing by any installer will not post any danger provided the installer inform you if its safe or danger of doing the option you have. When i first install my current house water heater, i got a quote from an installer RM 90 only, and he told me to use the socket which i already connect with A/C. I question him about the overload, and he then only tell me to use only one at a time. End up i did not give him the job. I do it myself by putting a new long high Amp cable from ground floor to first floor. It cost me RM 200 for material only, but at least is safer.

Make sure you ask the correct question.

I think what weikee meant is not to share the switch for the water heater with another source.

Yes, this happen when we put in water heater in old house where the socket was not installed. Usually the installer will get one from the nearest socket/face plate.
