I was more familiar with the La Sallian brotherhood because I was actively involved in La Sallian Conference/Convention. We meet every year at St Michael's Ipoh and every 4 yrs there is Asia-Pacific Convention with students from Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines etc.

Throughout the years, I have met very good friends from St Francis Melaka, St Joseph Kuching & St Paul Seremban & La Salle KK.

That's how I know these schools smile.gif

The Principal now is ex-senior teacher from SMK Jinjang...you can imagine what kind of standard SJI has becomed.

BMW was sacked from priesthood for some scandal...he later married PRC girl and became teacher.

Bro Lawrence died 2 years ago.

Fernandez twins have very little influence now.

So what...in St John prefects are elites called CP = Councillor Prefects Board, very powerful one, wear black coat, pants and leather shoes. - but rest of school have to wear crappy green pants and short sleeves.

Didn't bother anymore about alumni dinners, buka puasa or old boys games...

Even those reunion are run by same uncles and the old teachers are not there anymore (either dead or in retirement home)....

No more open days such as walkathon or brickathon or music festival like when the Bros are around.

SJI is not like it used to be...the way they run the school now is like any other SMK. Even school rally have to sing in Bahasa Melayu. Anything that relates to the school's English or missionary heritage is scrapped.

Heard that a fews ago Kerismuddin wanted to change SJI name to "SMK Bkt Nanas" and CBN into "SMP Bkt Nanas" getting rid of missionary reminders - they say the "St" symbolises Christianity and is against Islam.

u were from what batch?

yeah... during my time, i think the school was still lively. during the 100 years celebration and so on. we celebrate chinese new year, hari raya, deepavali, n etc etc all together. what they (the teachers) taught 'inside there' is smthing we cannot find in other schools. discipline is everything but must enjoy at the same time. the school might not produce the best results in PMR or SPM comparing to other premiere schools, but the school did provide the best education for its students to overcome obstacles in their future then become the best man in his expertise. 'inside there', we the students were truly like brothers. malay, chinese, indian sit together tok kok, make jokes, condemn each others, curse somebody's father name, during P.A. time we were always teasing somebody's private part laugh.gif , then we went tuition together (i was Kasturi's tongue.gif). well... after i got out frm the school, i never feel the same atmosphere exactly as 'inside there'. i seriously thankful to my parents for placed me there, n become one of the true johannian. cheers.gif

I have some more spooky stories to tell you guys. It's about my school, SMB. St Joseph.

As you know, my school is quite old (est.1882) and during WWII it was used as the Japanese HQ. So there's bound to be some ghosts there.

I was chosen by the school board to be a probationary prefect (still on probation) and a fortnight ago, we went to school for this Prefect Leadership camp, and we had to stay overnight in school, 3 days 2 night. It was suppose to be held in Camp Pueh, but becoz it was used for National Service, no choice have to do in school.

There were rumours that our head prefect saw a ghost. It was the first night in the camp, and we were doing a treasure hunt. We were hunting for a clue, and that clue was gonna ask us to try to find the head prefect.

While we were searching for the clue, our facilitator went and informed our head prefect to go and hide.(he was in the staff room watching tv) On his way out of the staff room, he walked along a small corridor, and in the middle of the corridor, there was a small alley leading to another corridor. He said that he saw a figure of a person there, but the strange thing was, the 'thing' had two heads, one which was smaller than the other. He just quietly went on his way.

After he had arrived at his place of hiding, he leaned against a wall, and than he said he felt something holding on to his arms. He tried to pull free but couldn't. By that time, we were searching for him. When we found him, we rushed towards him. When he saw us rushing towards him, he was supposed to try to run away from us, but he couldn't do so. Once we reached him, the thing let go of him, and he managed to pull free. Creepy huh?

We didn't know about this until the next morning, when the facilitator told us. He wasn't suppose to tell anybody, but he was quite sporting and decided to tell only our group. Sufficient to say, that night, we all had quite a bit of trouble trying to sleep. :shake:

The facilitator also told us a few more ghost stories. He was in the Police Cadet, and the day before Sports Day, he spent the night in school, as he had to wake up early tomorrow to use the bus to go to the stadium. He was sleeping in the room with two friends, and at 2am in the morning, he heard sounds coming from outside the corridor. The room had no windows, so he decided to open the door to take a peek outside the corridor. He opened the door slighly ajar, but before he could take a peek, he saw a small boy running pass the door in the corridor. He believed that it was a toyol.

He also told us, that in one of the staircase in our school, there were footprints imprinted on the cement floor. It had been there for many years already, and it couldn't be scrubbed off. We went to look, and sure enough, it was still there. The footprints were of a child, and it was perfectly normal, except for the toes. The toes weren't round, but were sharp and pointed, like fangs....A couple of steps up, there were child footprints, but this were normal ones, with normal toes.

The school also has a couple of rooms, which have remained locked and never opened as far as I know. Rumours have it that the rooms are haunted, which could be true. If not, why are the rooms locked and never opened?

Kinda long... i try:

It was back in mid 90s, when we organized the 7th La Sallian Convention in St Paul, Seremban.

There were 20 of us (adult old boys & girls, volunteers & students) venturing into a Malay kampung in paroi to gather socio-economic information for our group discussion.

All of us left in the morning and had to walk passed bushes, houses, lake and an abandoned well with filthy water. We were divided into groups and went to different parts of the village to interview the villagers.

Everything was fine...

Until we went back to school....

A close friend of mine, let's call him T-Rex... standing at 5'10", was a very bubbly guy from a well-to-do family... he was quite good looking & well-known among the girls... changing gf like changing his shirt... and on any normal day, he would burst into a love song out of the sudden...

But... after the short excursion to the kampung, he became unusually quiet, and troubled...

We all thought it was because he started to realized how fortunate he has been all these while and having seen the unfortunate, he was a changed person... deep in thoughts about his life and how he could make a change to help the needy...

We were wrong... very very wrong....

We didn't talk much to him and left him immersed himself with such life-changing experience... we, based on previous experience, had seen such changes: we had brought groups going into rubber plantations living with the tappers to feel how they live their daily lives with only basic necessities, orang asli , fishermen, orphanage etc.

It wasn't until the next morning that he started to approach me to tell me his story... this was the point where the floodgate opened:

He told me he had a dream... a dream that a young boy came to him naked, drenched and shivering... begging him to help to go back to the lake where we all had walked pass on the way to the kampung. He dreamed that he was led to the edge of the lake and the boy asked him to dive into the lake to exhume the boy's remains to be buried properly.

Else, the spirit would roamed aimlessly, unable to proceed to the netherworld...

He said he woke up immediately after he agreed to help the boy...

I listened with undivided attention, just like you are doing now, but skeptical because it was, after all, a dream.....

I gave him some comforting advice, as a father would give a son who had a nitemare, and the day proceeded as usual... until the following day, when we were all supposed to return home, and school was supposed to resume on Monday.

It did not end here....

In fact ... it was only the beginning....

T-Rex was absent on Monday, called in sick...

On Tuesday morning, when i went into the class, T-Rex was there at his seat, right beside mine in the class... and I noticed he still looked lost... quiet, unkempt (he used to carry a comb in his back pocket, and would comb his hair looking into a small mirror in his pencil case, but today his appearance seemed to be the last thing in his mind) and very troubled...

I also noticed his fingers were stained with red dye or ink... as if he just refilled the white-board marker pen.

But that was never his job... it was the class monitor's duty.

While waiting for the teacher to come in, I asked him whether he was OK... and he told me another story:

This time, it was not a dream anymore....

The young boy came to him in his room when he on his bed reading... the boy begged him again to help find the remains at the bottom of the lake... he said he screamed and the parents brought him to see the chinese medium... those, you know, wearing yellow Taoist costume and had communications with deities...

He had to go thru some evil spirit cleansing rituals, hence the red dye from the talisman etc. and he showed me his 500ml mineral water bottle with some black soot at the bottom. It was the burnt talisman mixed with water for him to drink for the whole day...

Then the teacher came into class...

The first lesson of the day started...

But stranger things happened....

When the teacher was teaching (if any of u were in Form 5 James, u would remember Puan Low Add Maths and how she scolded "T-rex"), suddenly T-Rex burst into sudden laughter... uncontrollable... non stop.... laughed until he was teary-eyed... we were all surprised, but the teacher was not amused...

Some shouted from the back that T-Rex had gone lunatic coz his gf dumped him (he had a couple of gfs from Convent & STAN)... but I knowing what happened to him, I know something was not right.

It went on like this for 4 periods until recess... and T-Rex told me he saw "Monkey God" jumping around in the class... and he laughed because it was funny... doh.gif

He said the "Monkey God" came to protect him after they prayed to him at the temple...

It was really absurd...

This went on for a 2 days... until T-Rex was absent from school again.

The next thing I knew when he was back a week later, he looked very very tired, and he told me everything was over. The boy's roaming spirit were laid to rest and would not haunt him again....

T-Rex didnt do well in SPM, and went back to Form 6 after that.

Strange... but true story. First hand.

It's creepy... especially when u were there with T-Rex, and sitting next to him and he only told me the story.

I tried to tell others this story, but no one cared to believe. Everyone thought he had gone mad because of BGR problem & exam stress.

The water with burnt talisman soot was real. He showed me how he drank it from the 500ml mineral water bottle.

He told me the boy was drowned in the lake and was never found... the boy wanted a proper burial.

It's good that the boy was finally laid to rest. Things could get a little weird sometimes. Just gotta believe in things once in a while.

Btw, i think this is more to a personal ghost story than a haunted school story. Haha.

Anyway, i had a good read. Gotta sleep nao. Hope this thread continues tomorrow !

This happened 2 years ago (2009).
It happened in Mill Hill Block St. Joe Kch. around 5 something, almost 6 to be exact.
This story was from my friends, let's call them K and A.

Ah, before that, let me tell you that we loveee to sing. We sing everywhere even outside the class. K and A were selected for the school choir team.

So that evening, K forgot her tumbler in the class. K asked A to teman her to go upstairs together. K actually felt something was wrong. But, she just ignored it. So they sang on their way to our class. Our class is on the 3rd floor. Same floor with Counselling Room. At that moment, no one was there. The counselling room was closed too. On the way down, they sang again lol laugh.gif . This time they sang 'Muhibbah' song. One of the choir songs.

"Muhiiiiibbah muhiiiibbahh itulah amalan kita semuaaa" Then suddenly, they heard a voice out of nowhere, sing along with them. Veryyy sayuuu. K and A just ignored it but their step were getting faster and faster.

-The End-
Its time to sleep, buenos noche!
