As mentioned, if your annual chargeable income is less than 20k which is not taxable, are you required to submit your EA form? Do you even need to open an Income Tax account if your income is this little?

1. if you opened a file with LHDN already, you are required to submit whether or not you are in the taxable bracket.

2. if your income per year is less than RM30k (take home pay of more than Rm2.5 k per month), no need to open account with LHDN, bcause then you will have the birokrasi and hassle of having to fill up the e-filing every year.

on the pro side, if should you get into the taxable income bracket later on, at least your account is there already.

Also alot easier for your employer to do PCB (potongan cukai berjadual), every month they deduct a bit from your pay to cover the income tax...
