Most of the time I watch Celestial movies.
Those Stephen Chow's movies are just the best...never had enough.
Always laugh each time I watched it.
One more thing...every early morning around 6am...old movies from the 60's
always aired.
Cool.
All the legends of HK movies were there.
They even appear on TVB drama.
Quite fun to see them now....old but young and energetic back then.
Cool...just cool.
You go "...my god...hey..it's him/her. Oh...He/She is a popular actors back then.."
;-)
Nice job Celestial Movies.
Too bad other chinese channels doesn't have malay or english sub titles.
Wish to learn mandarin or cantonese one day...any cute Tiong Hua girls willing to
tutor me?

I'm amazed that you actually recognise them when they are young!
But Celestial channel doesnt come with subtitles.. I guess you much have been looking at the pictures and laugh.

It requires ActiveX which I'm very reluctant to install.
Cut down on the illegal download crap.
The local mods have been very lenient on this thread so lets not go overboard

Anyone knows where can I get the broadcast rating in HK. I was told that Dance of Passion broke the rating on its debut.

It was being watched by 2.31 million viewers on its debut
None of the series has over 2 million viewers on debut b4
And it was like 36% of the population
But I heard the first episode is just alright
The show only gets better when Ada Choi made her first appearance in Episode 2
*
Woah..!
That's amazing. I wonder what the remaining 5 million ppl are doing.
And I havent even get to watch my 1st episode. It should be a hit when it reaches Malaysia on Astro. Just like what Kam Chi Yuk Yip did.

翡翠台 = fei chui toi(cantonese)  << is this a traditional mandrain writting... like it is hard to write...
*
Mandrin would be Fei Cui Tai (I hope I get it right).
Erm.. in Hong Kong, traditional chinese wording is used. But 翡翠台 is also written the same in Simplified Chinese.

for example, shine on u, step into the past & future, etc....

stop multiple post lah, use multi quote.

Shine on You and Step into the past to compare with The Greed of Man?
No way.. both of those series WONT even come as near.

You know how much The Greed of Man influenced ppl lives during the 90s? Every uncle, aunty, grandmother and kids all wanting to KILL the 5 Crabs and get involved in the stock market. That's what happened in my kampung.

Totally agree. The series even have an impact in the stock market, Ding Hai Effect
For me, tvb oldies still have that effect that current tvb series lack. Series like Cold Blood Warm Heart and File of Justice (I to V) are still very much popular and no series can match them so far (for me at least).
*
Amazing!!
I didnt know there's such thing as the Ding Hai effect.
Oh gosh, I can have this studied and present in my investment class!! rclxms.gif
