help needed

my computer somehow not really responding just now, when i tried to open windows media player it give me the 'opening' sign.....i waited for so long but it did not open. my laptop is only one week old n53sv-sx255v, it shouldn't lag because i hardly use it at all. its not the program problem because my task manager is not responding too, i clicked the 'end program' but it doesn't reacts.

so in the end i hold the power button to shut down my laptop and switch it back on.
anyone know what is wrong with it?
