Same here. Cpu-Z didn't show anything on Channel and DC Mode. So i download Aida64 and use the memory benchmark suite. Definitely a performance different between single and dual.

wow..thanks for the AIDA64 link! LOL

And you have to take out the rams first.. i see 8GB..meaning you have 2x2x4 right?

UGPM tongue.gif refer to that, and get 30% memory boost biggrin.gif

Okay guys, summed up stuffs. Since we're all lovely and adorable N53S users..here's my findings.

To achieve DUAL-CHANNEL

1) Open up your memory casing
2) Check out the colour on the memory banks
3) You will see Black and White. rolleyes.gif
4) I dont want to confuse you with the Slot 1, 2, 3 and 4. Use colour, i'm sure we all can differentiate color better brows.gif
5) to get dual channel, you need to put it in the SAME COLOUR

Basically, if you have 2x2GB Elpida.

Put 1 in the White slot, and another 1 in the white slot beside it.

or repeat the same type in the Black slots.

Preferably, you have the same clock rate and DDR to get Dual Channel.

I took out a 4GB ram to test it out..

Compared to my previous 8GB.. of course 4GB is slower. Can feel it. Doubt it's placebo.

Think i'll be buying another Mushkin to pair it 2x4GB.

What did you do before it happened? Installed something? Try to roll back/recover systems/reformat.
