Yes cause currently ur laptop is using Intel GPU. Only for demanding games or program then only ur laptop will use the Nv Gt540M. This tech is called Nvidia Optimus. Google it to learn more.
Btw
Blue = Intel GPU
White = Nvidia GPU

GO to Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Global Settings > Preferred Graphics Processor > Nvidia

Be warn that using GT540M the whole time can lower battery time

SV can never have GT550M only SN
if you look up the specs on the Asus web u can see. The GPU is soldered to the mobo so there's no way they can change the GPU.
If can change, they will state it on the web....

Basicly the Video Memory help's in screen resolution. That's why u can see some high end desktop GPU having 512mb RAM like the ATI 4580. Even with 512mb RAM, high end games are still playable in 1080p.
Also the Video Memory could help in graphic design

impossible is black le. All N series, old and current is Silver.
The only laptops that are black are the A series or G series.....

i dunno what u mean by whole black colour but the all N series...except N55SF...have silver lid.

SN and SV specs are same except for GPU.
SN = Nvidia GT550M
SV = Nvidia GT540M
and of course GT550M is better......

oh yea, some SV model are i5 and some are i7. For i5, max RAM is 8GB while for i7 max RAM is 16GB

i saw 2 different color on the speaker cover, one is whole black which same color as the keyboard. but another one the the speaker is silver color...
i cant find accurate information by google...sorry for my silly brain

The "SV" they we are talking about is not confirm. But i can tell that's a SN model by looking on the laptop surface.

Also, the speaker only got 1 colour la bro, Silver.......

to know what is dxdiag, click start menu and run dxdiag then u know what it is icon_rolleyes.gif

bro, if you look at the Asus web, the speaker is also black. But if u see the pic pandera999 posted is Silver right....
Even my N53SN and other users are also Silver. The picture u posted and other N53SN advertising picture is being edited or most prob there a shadow on the speaker....
I guess what you see is not always what u get laugh.gif

impossible, Asus Global stated that GT550M on all SN models only comes with DDR3 and not GDDR5......
