price also increase ... so whether put the sim in 3g dongle or in phone only or in phone work as modem through usb to pc, the 500MB quota still apply right?

regarding the throttled speed by u-mobile:
bought a prepaid sim pack for the purpose of trying u-mobile personally: 1 day 500MB RM5 subscription to view their speed, stability and throttled speed after reaching quota. the answer is : 64Kbps after quota (did several speedtest and view dashboard speed), lower than other telcos which got 128kbps. but u-mobile is speedy and stable connection, just don't cross the line ... |

QUOTE(radi0head @ Dec 19 2011, 10:30 PM) around 2.3Mbps, @jln ipoh kl, environment condition: at alley area between 2 block building 3 storey high back-to-back, which i think this is really good effort by u-mobile still can provide this speed at such undesired area, maybe their base station is just near-by, so can achieve that).just after quota drop down to 64kbps, really turtle... good thing is their quota volume higher than others @same rate, and now even zero initial entry cost > they free postpaid broadbank simcard to anyone without the need to pay 'activation fees RM100', but for bundle with modem plan, still need to pay that (just exactly buying modem from them, not activation admin fees really). |

QUOTE(Quantum_thinking @ Jan 26 2012, 01:13 PM) Most of the modems in the market are 7.2mbps only. Anyone here use the 42mbps modem and achieve that speed? bring 42Mbps modem to KL berjaya timesquare to test it up, then one would know if that simply umobile marketing or truth.last time bfore they launched the 42mbps ultra fast plan, their timesquare centre got pc+modem ready there on the spot to test. but now, not seen anymore ...hehehe ... understood lah. any one bought zte mf680 42mbps from u-mobile better go there and test it up. |

QUOTE(CnY Garage @ Jan 26 2012, 02:37 PM) i had tried galaxy s 2 Hspa+ speed 18mbps, with the 42mbps modem my executive support saying they only tested around 24mbps max so far, so if any1 can more than that could share the experience =.= so 24Mbps is the realistic max speed there ... half the way down than promised speedanyway, 24Mbps considered top speed lah among other 3G telcos. Anyway, purely fighting for speed is pointless if volume quota is less, luckily u quota is better too. noticing more kl users getting switching to u-mobile from the interaction of 3g antenna dealing previously. |

QUOTE(TechnoG @ May 16 2012, 02:36 PM) you're using U28? actually I always wonder what is the capped speed..some people say 64kbps and so on. it is area dependants, seem ur area not under hot radar of umobile or very few umobile usersbut I dont know why, my speed is always very stable at around 2-3Mbps even if I exceed my quota..or do they let you go if you're still a new subscriber? |

QUOTE(sanderz @ May 19 2012, 08:45 PM) yup, buy a prepaid simcard to test umobile already...very economy and easier way to test compared to test other telco 3g ... (those sign up contract first , 7 days money back guarantee or don't even have 1 are sick....) |

QUOTE(itanium89 @ May 22 2012, 04:27 PM) Hi, i suggest u to turn off roaming feature in ur phone and see if can connect to your local site tower.i'm purchased plan u28 and using it several day ago without any problem.. but when i plug in my modem today.. it display "STARHUB" not "UMOBILE" and said something about "ROAMING". but I'm stay at jb..help plz.. any idea..how to solve this problem ? although it is not concerned with $$ or speed (if no obvious slow down). it's to do with phone RF radiation when always running in top capacities. (and also save battery for no roaming). but in case u encounter connecting to local umobile yield signal level is even lower than starhub one, then can continue with that roaming bcoz that scenario suggest local tower even further from u... |
