Sorry if this has been asked before, has anyone got any luck evading the throttled speed after quota with VPN? or VPN won't make any difference on the throttled speed?

I am using postpaid rm68, but got it for a special deal for RM254 for 6 months (including modem). the 6 months period is ending in June, not sure whether I should maintain or break contract.

would love to hear the feed back on the VPN

I'm contemplating this package. How is the reliability of the network?
In Kajang ok?

the network is reliable. best way to check whether your place has a good coverage or not is to test your friend's u broadband or phone data if they are using Umobile, at your place.

I am using umobile both for my phone and mobile broadband, great coverage so far.

How is the Data Speed?

that depends on area and device. in bandar sunway, I am getting 5-6 mbps on both devices, although I have to say that I am using only a 7.2 mbps modem. in kemensah, I can get 8.7 mbps on the phone. in my uni, when the signal is good, i can get 4-5 with the modem, so it really depends on where would you normally use the service

works fine here as well. Setiawangsa, Ampang and Bandar Sunway

Regarding the customer service, I found that all telco are roughly the same. I have jumped from a lot of telco, but I'll be sticking with Umobile due to their great value.

What I do when I file a complaint, is I log every calls or emails or tweets, and ask for case number, and if they don't call me back etc, just tweet them. and list down the logs. Normally they'll response faster on twitter. But the customer careline has been fine for me so far smile.gif

this is the twitter account https://twitter.com/umobilesb smile.gif

to be honest, my encounter with the Umobile reps have been good so far. I MNP-ed my number from UOX to Umobile prepaid two years ago at their service centre in Jusco AU2, everything was done smoothly, the rep was efficient and everything was done within 15 minutes. my number was successfully ported after a few hours, not too shabby.

Called their careline last year over a problem that my friend had with no connectivity (postpaid+S2) and they resolved it within that call itself.

Bought a special FB deal that Umobile had for postpaid in January early this year, (around 260 for 6 months of 5gb broadband data + free usb modem) at their service centre in Times Square and they know about the deal and everything was done within a few minutes.

Called them again a few weeks ago at 3am tongue.gif to clarify about the account status for my friend (He is studying overseas and his account was going to expire before he came back) and the rep handled it nicely, even at 3am

so yeah, my experience with their customer service has been good so far. smile.gif

Just prepare all the necessary information before contacting them, and speak nicely to them, and hopefully everything would be smoothly resolved. thumbup.gif

hi all..wta ..does umobile new postpaid plan price effect the old customer..me using 2gb postpaid plan , rm40 monthly....tq

better check with their customer careline, my previous experience with Maxis was they will still honour the pricing of the original plan, nothing is changed. Not sure about Umobile though
