Hi digilife,

I have interested to sign up with UMobile. I have an Android phone, I need a data plan for my phone. My requirements are below:

1) Monthly data usage = 2 - 3 GB
2) Access to internet when travel to Johor, Penang and Perak (2G or 3G speed also can, as long as I can access to internet)

Which plan should I go for it? a or b?

a) U Prepaid Plan (New) + Mobile Internet (MB40)
b) Postpaid Plan (Voice and Data plans - ULite RM68)

Is Data roaming (umobile2G) only available for Prepaid users?

Thanks so much for your advice.

Hi xcen,

Thanks for your advice. I'm not a heavy user in calling and sms. But, I will use a lot data for internet using my phone.

If I sign up Postpaid plan, does this means that if I not in 3G coverage, I will not be able to connect to internet? Becuase of no data roaming for postpaid users?

Thanks again.

Can share with me ur celcom3g APN setting?
I've called them & they said only RM28 subscribers get the data roaming...
Who can confirm this?

Sorry, let me rephrase. Data roaming is available for both prepaid and postpaid customers.

If you do not use much of calls and SMS, then I'd suggest you go for prepaid, since the credit can be flexible. Meaning you can spend on internet and not worry about your monthly commitment. If you go for postpaid, every month you have to pay at least RM68. If you don't use the calls and sms provided, it is not worth it.

But, in digilife reply, data roaming only available for prepaid (RM28) users. Who can confirm this? cry.gif

i would advice u take option a)

cost wise = rm28 + rm40 = rm68

meaning u will hav 2 sims, rm28 for calls and surfing( in non UM3G area, as u travel extensively and some areas might not hav UM3G and hence u can roam on celcom 2G data) if u are in a UM3G area, use your MB40 sim to surf and pls topup only require amt to buy the MB40 cause if u topup more than the required amount, UM will "eat up" your credit once u over use the 2GB quota.....
MNP your current sim into Umobile for the rm28/mth  and get a buy a new UM sim for the MB40. use the MB40 on a device/fon tat can tether the data onto another device...

Hi digilife,

Why I need 2 sim cards? Let say, I upload RM68 monthly to my RM28 sim card,

I subscribe RM28 + RM40 (MB40) for my RM28 sim card, in total, I will get 0.5GB+2GB = 2.5GB data

Question: Can I use the RM28 sim card to subscribe MB40?

I don't want to carry 2 sim cards or 2 phones cry.gif

Thanks so much again for your help.

i hav not tried tat b4, its viable on theory, do u dare to try? biggrin.gif

i can help you to calculate till u topup the desire amount via flexi e-reload

rm5.00 (new sim ) +rm55.00 ( flexi e reload ) + rm8.25 ( 15% of the rm55 reload bonus ) = rm68.25

meaning u only nid to topup rm55 via flexi e reload
