QUOTE(9M-MAS @ May 27 2011, 09:34 PM) Anyone knows when U Mobile is going to upgrade the upload speed for Klang Valley? The 56Kbps max upload rate is driving me crazy - in fact I think it's what caused my E160X to burn the other day ( it overheated and failed to detect any network as soon as I finished uploading a 19MB video file to FB) Should be this year. The only complaints I got on UBB is - increase bandwidth to 10GB and upgrade the upload speed. |

QUOTE(9M-MAS @ May 27 2011, 10:11 PM) The 42Mbps HSPA+ network is available in Berjaya Times Square and Johor Bahru. The 42Mbps coverage in Penang and Klang Valley will be ready by 2nd half of this year.http://www.u.com.my/faqs/42mbps-mobile-broadband-service |

QUOTE(Juneapril @ May 29 2011, 01:52 AM) I am curious. First they launched 42 Mbps and then coming LTE 100Mbps. How their infrastructure going to provide these type of speed without affeting current users? Yes they are upgrading their networks. If you see the coverage map, UM start to offer speed of up to 21Mbps at Sepang and surrounding areas. If current users of other plan get 1Mbps and they want provide 42 Mbs plan, shoudn't they upgrade their server capability 42 times (idiot way of calculating 42/1=42? Are they really commited to upgrade their infrastructure capacity 42 times? To double the upgrading need a lot capital, leave alone 42 times. I am just saying these because I am worry current UB68 user will be affected. Look like the speed 1Mbps (used to be 1.5-2.5 Mbps) is GOING TO STAY. I only read in this forum saying UMobile is upgrading. Where's the news or official annoucement of ugrading? Are they really upgrading? Upgrading their computer's mouse to wireless type doesn't count as upgrading. Of course, I have no idea about the "actual" speed because I have no time to go LCCT and perform speed test. |

QUOTE(zephyr3d @ Jun 1 2011, 01:00 PM) hi guys... i'm seeking an opinion or two regarding U Mobile. Price wise, it looks reasonably priced.. I'm planning to get Voice & Data Plans U Lite (RM68). If no UM signal they will redirect to celcom roaming I've been a stubborn Digi customer for donkey years.. since 1997 I think. But I have to admit that I'm (finally) calling it a day. The coverage and strength hardly came on par with other telcos. Either I'll lose 3G at certain area (even in my own house at Kinrara it fluctuates!!). Plus Digi is also famous for "zero coverage" in enclosed areas.. sometimes 'no line' in shopping complexes.. .frustrating! imagine no line at certain parts of Pavilion or The Gardens? Its a joke. So..... main questions. How's the coverage and strength of U Mobile? 3G as well. Hopefully you guys can give me your honest opinion.. and don't tell me to go thru hundreds of pages in this (and other) topic. Thanks a bunch Added on June 1, 2011, 1:10 pm Hi.. i'm a little confused. Why are you guys roaming with Celcom? In M'sia? Would there be additional charges? Thks. |

QUOTE(robertlee @ Jun 2 2011, 07:18 AM) Just notice that, U mobile have new package. Link?MB-DAY:RM6/DAY,Unlimited MB40:RM40/MTH.Unlimited MB68:RM68/MTH.Unlimited MB128:RM128/MTH.Unlimited. If base on the previous chart. RM6,500MB , RM40,2GB, RM68,5GB, so exceed all goes to 128kbps Therefore the RM128 ? dunno how many GB given.... if 10GB nice. |
