Well, to be honest, that's too much of a hassle for me.
I'm just gonna subscribe tonight and see what happens.
Waiting to switch to fixed line broadband in a few months

CNY Garage: IF i have subscribe for the umobile broadband and purchase the 21mbps modem and discovered the service is terrible; do they refund the modem money as well since it will be useless? Any other hidden charges like stamp fees etc?

AFAIK I have to pay rm350 upon subscription include modem. IF I am not satisfied how much will be refunded?

Thanks in advance.
*
if within 7 days and usage less than 500mb , you may go center and return all the things to get full refund within few months, if after 7 days, you may go to terminate around month end, since the cycle is from 1st day of the month tilll the end. and you might get no refund at all, you may need to pay the bill with 1st month RM 20 rebate
so you are going to pay RM 48 or RM 108 more MAX, and resell the modem ba, market price 250-299 is acceptable

Unsubscribing to an existing prepaid broadband plan only deactivates auto renewal.
Re-subscribtion can only be done after the plan expired.
As told by a U Mobile CS dude.
Anyway, there's still 2 hours to go.
*
ok, my admin support in umobile was having dinner with umobile CEO yesterday night while all of us suffering the connection problem, and the answer for that is you may try other normal sim pack to subscribe the prepaid broadband again and again within expired but not the prepaid card bundle with the modem cool2.gif
i don't know but you may try it out

*
1st check whether in 3g coverage, 2nd choose your NETWORK, don put AUTO
3rd may set your phone setting according u.com.my

umobile don have auto phone setting for IPHONE, only android and other normal phones =.=

TO CKTANG

i do not agree what you were saying, it might be your bill problem

1st, is your plan mb128 ?

the RM 100 is for deduction monthly RM 20, and now umobile is charging ADVANCE PAYMENT, meaning you are going to pay next month bill now, to avoid blacklisted while you terminate the plan and forgot to pay LAST PAYMENT

so you are paying 108 + 128 for 1st month, or 48 + 68 , is it correct ?

I plan is mb68, 5gb. In my bill there are charging me monthly fee rm68, advanced rm68, activation fee rm100, deduct rm-20 rebate, rm-42 prorate because i applied around 20/02/2012. Total around rm 174. I will bring my bill to enquiry at the service center at tropicana city mall before i pay. Send email enquiry to the umobile customer service, they replied asking my account details and never reply again. I'm supicious of the shop is tweaking the promotion offer by umobile to make extra profit. By the time I register, I'm asking about how's the m68 prepaid plan. The SA was telling I need to pay rm135 to buy the starter pack with rm68 loaded inside. I need to buy the modem myself or buy from them rm100, if buy from them and never register rm130. Later I found out the starter pack rm135 should be loaded rm68 and bundled with the modem. The problem is before this my streamyx line can't go into u.com.my to find out the detail of the plans. When I went to the shop at the Mines shopping fair, the shop was look like an Umobile authorised outlet with big UMobile logo and lot's of umobile products brochures inside. But inside the umobile website they got stated this shop as U Frens outlet that providing umobile services. Not sure they can alter the price of the umobile plan to con customer or they r running their own business without getting commissions from umobile.

i think you may snapshot your bill and share with us, it sounds like a fraud or con case vmad.gif

QUOTE(digilife @ Feb 22 2012, 06:33 PM)
for the benefit of other users out there,

if you just wan to use broadband, no need to signup postpaid although postpaid will make the dealer "richer"

prepaid broadband is also as good as postpaid, just that postpaid bb usim is 3G only sim which can only be used on a 3G fon or a USB modem , whereas Prepaid Broadband utilise a 2G/3G simcard which can be used on a normal 2G fon to make calls ( if you have the credit ) or connect online if you have subscribed to any broadband package.

postpaid bb have to pay 6% Gov tax

postpaid bb hav to be bill the one month advance on the first bill

prepaid bb can "escape" the above 2 "traps"

btw, some guys will sell the rm135 bundled broadband package with modem separately, meaning the bb rm68+rm5(simcard) for rm73 and the modem separately for rm100 (new ma) this is the 5GB/30days package.

and currently there is the 15% topup bonus if u make an international call , your next topup will entitle for 15% bonus

eg; you top rm10 now, make an international call for 30secs to anyone in say China, then on your next topup ( say rm10 ) you will get 15% on top of it, rm10+rm1.50= rm11.50, solid credit
*
for your information, first postpaid BB got no 6% gov tax, one month advance is its disadvantage, but you may figure it out, for instance the MB68 plan, buying prepaid broadband is RM 135 free 68package, meaning the modem cost is RM 67, it is more or less like an advance payment, but advance payment is brought forward but prepaid is not icon_rolleyes.gif

there is no best option, only the suitable 1 thumbup.gif

hi Mei90, now for postpaid broadband, all service provider like digi celcom including umobile also charging an ADVANCE PAYMENT

meaning you are paying RM 68 + 48(pro rated), 20++ of the month then your charge for 48 sure below 20

same as 128 plan, RM 128 +108 (pro rated), charge for 108 should below 40

Sony Ericsson Cedar Prepaid Bundle promotion

Anyone know this promo?

Does this come with handfree?

the top up RM50 to redeem RM20 start after sim activation or the next month?

Thank notworthy.gif
*
yup this promotion came out 2-3 months ald, but honestly the phone cedar is quite a cheap phone <RM 200, not worth to pay a lump sum RM 268 to get rebate later

HI sordanny, i understood what you are experiencing, it is just same as ppl complaining digi here no 3g network, there no line at all, or complaining maxis charge me data RM300 T_T, or celcom 3g slow like turtle ....

there is no perfect telco, only the most suitable 1, so wish you can get a telco that suit your need ba, don worry, nowaday mnp is so easy hahahaha

QUOTE(MEAKU15 @ Mar 2 2012, 06:36 AM)
hey guys, just wanna know if the speed for BB prepaid plan, the weekly Rm5 i think, it says unlimited data and unlimited video streaming, but when i test the connection, i am only getting around 5 to kbps ... thats right, kbps and not mbps... dont know if that the speed for the plan... how to know what's wrong?? call them up? The speed is so slow, better than Edge maxis even better than gprs i htink....
*
test it at different area, your signal strong or weak ? showing hspa or utms or umobile 2g =.=
usually when uncapped speed would reach 2-4mbps
unless you hide very deep in your house till no signal can reach

QUOTE(mousez @ Mar 2 2012, 12:11 PM)
so now hav to wait?? till the digi line deactive?
*
