My friend working for Alcatel-Lucent base at London, project submarine cable network. Working round the world (at least 3 month at oversea) His payment £120/day (not include his claim/food/transportation/bonus) .. his family living at Malaysia dont have much problem at all.

In US, they had two path for career growth plan for each of their employees. One is technical side another managerial part. Although it's totally diff path the outcome salary is not much different. A senior manager earning more or less the income of a senior engineer. Since they're significant towards each other.

But in Msia, sad but tru. engineer is high level kuli. Make sure the company provide OT, Mileage claim and other allowance before u accept their offer cause basic pay definitely not enough. Driving a City? wearing Frogskin and APC? with 3k? bullshi* i'd say

don't get trigger too fast if it ain't got nothing to do with u. i just lay an example of a fresh grad engineer dreams when they start working n earn their own money.

Of course good salary won't fall from the sky and land beautifully on your lap. and FYI i have a very good reputation during my 8 months intern at ALU. go work at 9am, leave work almost 9pm. Im not that typical cheapskate gal looking for good salary with no experience. i have good grades too.

Been interviewed,passed SI,promised a job but PET so miskin now (and EE market ain't good in PET, unfortunately). they offer 4k (which is not bad), im looking for better pay knowing what i can offer. and yeah im choosy when it comes to good-earn-money (who doesn't??). just looking for the right job with best offer at the moment. chill lah bro

If they don't need EE and why on earth did they sponsored EE students? haven't u heard of EE engineers offshore? Power Plants? Hun, who's noob now?

forget petronas.....lets talk about those high earning marine engineers ,who work on ships?? sallary in USD, Chief engineer minimum 5KUSD per month, not including allowances...
