Just want to share some experience from online order:

1. If you get your ipad later than the delivery date promised by Apple, just call their CS and marah2 a bit, and they will give you some refund.

2. If you are being overcharged when using CIMB credit card to pay, it's actually "cross-border" fees charged by the bank and unfortunately its stated in the bank T&C. In this case, its not CIMB fault, its Apple's. There shouldn't be any cross-border fees when you purchased from Malaysia store. You should then call Apple CS to complain and they will refund to you the overchaged amount.

Every business has SLA. I'm just sharing what you could get from your rights as a customer. A day late may mean nothing to most people but could make a huge different to some people. What if you are getting your ipad late when you are supposed to give it as a present to VIP that you have invited to an event, or you are supposed to give it to a potential client in a meeting, or as a suprise gift to your wife / gf / boss / family?

I'm pretty sure in other countries, customers are as demanding (or more) as us in Malaysia. And looking at their sales in Malaysia, people are still queueing for the 4th batch of iPad2. With a bit of business sense, do you think they will want to delay their future product launch in Malaysia?

Sorry frega, didnt mean to start any argument here, just sharing my thoughts. Yes you're right, it is estimated delivery time, my mistake. And with our (Malaysia) slow custom clearance, they'll prolly shut down their online store here.

And sales in Malaysia is not as high as other bigger countries of course (I actually meant the take-up rate / penetration rate).

Just one thing that I wondered, I just went to Apple online store SG and Korea, and the option to buy ipad online is still there. Where did you get the news from? Prolly I've missed something out.
