I also kena extra charge, I think this apply to CIMB card only, I call CIMB CS, the representative said this amount is from apple. I think the representative also lazy to check or something about the transaction. I going to complaint to CIMB for this extra charge.

I'm using Citibank Credit Card
And the bank charged me the exactly amount stated in the invoice
I think u have to call your bank to cancel the card....if the bank insist to charge u like that

You can argue back that you purchase from Malaysia Apple Store.

However, it is true that a SG company is the one who invoice for your Ipad.

I have tried, using 2 credit cards and they charge me the exact amount as stated in apple store.

CITIBANK PLAT VISA -> Bought 2 Ipad, no extra charge
MAYBANK PLAT 2 CARD : AMEX -> Bought 1 Ipad, no extra charge

Hate to break it to you, but the fine print on the reverse side of your statement should explain this, which I was never aware of till now

So complaining to them is pointless and a waste of time. You can maybe lodge a complaint with Bank Negara though, to see if they got the balls to do anything.

So, we get screwed twice - one for the exchange rate, and another time for this admin fee. Sodo-mee, anyone?



Guys, thanks for sharing, now I know who to do banking with, and it shows that CIMB's call centre people are outright liars, because I asked the person on the line a couple of times, and he said yes, this is a banking industry practice

dude...where did you buy the stuff first of all?
Apple Store Malaysia right?
Why would that be consider an international charges?
We were quoted in RM and not USD to convert over..
Why buy locally still tie to FOREX?

Like that should we go back to Apple instead? to absorb the FOREX as we are consumer who expect it to be billed locally.

Eventhough we buy through Apple Malaysia website but if you check the invoice that Apple sent to you email, it came from Apple Singapore...

1) bought at Malaysia store
2) delay longer than our local stores
3) never inform on the Forex
4) its apple operation issue that the invoice have to come from SG
