Where would imported item detain if bought from HK, Custom duty and sales tax clearance

I was made aware that there is a custom department in the General Post Office Ipoh. So normally where would the items be sent to for custom clearance if I were to order it from Hong Kong?
I am based in Ipoh and the item are sent to my address in Ipoh,Perak. So normally will they detain my item in KLIA or in General Post Office Ipoh? This post has been edited by 779364: May 19 2011, 02:15 PM |

Normally at the custom office, and it's located in the same building as the GPO over here in KK, not sure about Ipoh.

Yes, i checked the Pos Malaysia website and General Post Office (GPO) Ipoh has a Custom office. The other GPO are GPO KK, GPO Kuching and GPO Butterworth. My only concern is whether they will detain my item at KLIA Sepang instead of GPO Ipoh. |
