i just got this marimo from my uni
and there is this small brown spot
is it ok?
and at first i put it in a bottle (after i clean it) and there were bubble
but after i put it in my fish tank , there is no bubble (practically both in the bottle and the aquarium have the same amount of sun light)
is it normal?

barbeque purpose... next week im holding a barbeque party. buy alot of lamp chop and chicken wings already but no veggie to barbeque. wanna try barbeque skewered marimo see whats the taste like...  wanna come?

dont worry,i know it is in the range..just that it looks much smaller compare to pic..
on top of that,the parcel so big...huge bubble wrap,open up,get so small marimos.. 

haha,yea,small and cute.i bought 3 nano to try 1st,scare later i buy big big one and duno how to take care and all die then not good.
yea,i mean its like a prank..u got a big present box,open it only to find small things inside.. 

I put mine in a plastic bottle at the moment.i know they can carry out photosynthesis,but mine only got like a few small bubbles on the marimo but got alot more on the inside surface of the bottle..
duno whether is the bottle or the bubble from marimo went to the bottle..

and the one which got fur drop out,now got another piece of it drop out..mum suggest call it ma-lat-mou, (lat mou=drop fur in cantonese ) and it also suit its original name-marimo. haha..

According to leeyung its normal la,metabolism.i notice theres small small alot smaller fur in the water of the other marimo,i think thats metabolism too.

haha,i like a mixture of big and small ones...but now not much budget for big ones..and 30.. did you buy all of them?or breed them?
I lembut lembut massage them after i received them and then put them into container..no rough rough geh..

and I saw from another seller that there is grade A and B marimo (well, the difference is the fur when I see the photo) A kinda soft, and B kinda rough and rotate look like..dunno is this true/not..or maybe they're different marimo from different country? =_=

oh it take months? okay! I try hard to cure this little thing 
today I see my marimo let out some dirt things (outside the marimo, and some is shredded on the bottom of the bottle)
yes I don't put my marimo in a small bottle anymore.. instead I buy bigger bottle and put it in my 20C air-con room
maybe at night I try to put it in a fridge, but I checked my fridge temperature is 12C..is that okay?

as long as it is not in the freezer should be ok. but remember to take it out over nite. i once left my momo in the fridge and forgot about it. when i realised, the whole thing turned brown d. T.T
even though they love chill places, but they oso need light. i guess i accidently left them in cold darkness...

cz some fridge inside got light eventho you closed the fridge door..while other fridge dun have light once you close the fridge door..

Haiz,my marimo a little brownish on the out side edi...not dark green at all..i thought is normal cz when i got it,its like that edi...

and how to differentiate if fake or original? 

hi guys... few question to ask about my marimo.... (attach with my marimo pic)

1- is it normal that my marimo having some area very dark green and some area light green???

2- also base on these pictures i posted below, is my marimo consider turning to yellowish?? my seller told me is already turn into yellowish, asked me to put minor salt and put into fridge... i wanted to cure it too, but my home fridge is full =___= no place to put... but to me, it still looks pretty green tho... (can see a little pinch bit yellowish, but i still categorize it as green).... so to all experts out there, is this consider yellowish and needed to be treated specially?

3- i read online, i do notice there are people putting into fridge too, but there are some information about putting into fridge can kill marimo too due to freezing. so how ar? im a bit confused here... i don wanna keep disturb my seller somehow since i found this marimo club here... can any expert here explain to me? to cure it need to put into fridge, but putting into fridge can freeze and kill it. +_@ confused...

4- does marimo float itself??? for what i notice... if i wash and squeeze all water from marimo and drop it back into water, it will definitely float for sure... but if i squeeze the marimo INSIDE the water (i assume im squeezing all trapped air), it will definitely drop back into water for sure...  for my understanding, marimo will sink and float itself... so my question is, does marimo float itself?? and if my marimo nvr float itself... does that mean something wrong with it? sick? or what? (im going to try leave it a week no change water, no squeezing see will it float or not...)

5- what is the right temperature for marimo? as u can see im using glass bowl, is hard for me to get any chiller or any gadget to cool it down... and also my room cant be 24hours running aircond... i tried temperature meter once, it was around 30c.... i feel a bit high...  but what is the right temperature for marimo for it to stay healthy? Malaysia is so bloody hot... tropical country...

6- any glass bowl marimo owner here? care to share ur trick to reduce temperature?

7- im thinking to get some shrimps for it... i know marimo nonit feed anything, but how about shrimps? i guess there must have some shrimps owner here as well right??? what should i feed it?? or mixing it with marimo it will just eat marimo brownish area bit by bit thus nonit feed it at all??? (read some where shrimps eat marimo yellowish/brownish area to keep it healthy?)

8- any recommended shrimps seller?? saw few at petstore in forum here but not sure which 1 is good dealer with healthy shrimps... since my seller told me to seek in forum instead of pet safari, as he said pet safari shrimps not so healthy compare to forumer seller..

anyone..please advise whether this is still alive? bought from a irresponsible seller...bought back it's already yellowish and brown, the fur already seems like "no energy" and super soft, now looking at it everyday color turn fade off and more n more brown ! he say put in fridge and luckily i din listen to him! Guys..when u saw any promo marimo buy 1 free 1 or cheaper price PLEASE BEWARE! i had my lesson!
