QUOTE(Kaisergrendel @ Nov 30 2012, 11:12 PM) Leave them long enough in the sun and they'll never pearl. Give em a water bath + massage, cycle the water inside the marimos out so they get fresh water on the inside, then expose them to a cool, strong white light. done that lots of times (i have nanos so soaking them on the inside doesn't seem to be a hard problem is it?)

QUOTE(Kaisergrendel @ Dec 1 2012, 10:17 AM) Then you should mention everything you've already tried before we can comment. Sorry, previously I was scared of breaking up the marimo if I massaged it too hard but after that i followed your advice and tried massaging it harder and changing the water a few times. When massaging it a slight murky greenish water was emited but after a few massages the water inside it was finally fully clean I've even read somewhere on the internet where not pearling doesn't always mean it's unhealthy too. But still I haven't seen it pearl since I bought it Maybe need to wait a few weeks for it to recover from the "ride" in the packaging? Hope it can pearl soon

QUOTE(Kaisergrendel @ Dec 1 2012, 09:41 PM) Mostly clear water is good. Green is healthy, pearling is just a bonus. If you have something agitating the water like a bubbler or filter that will make it hard for bubbles to accumulate. The light needs to be quite strong to get a good amount, too. I think in your case this needs to be said; don't over do it, be patient. It's possible to love your marimos to death. And NO MORE SUN!! Thanks fyi. Will respond when it starts pearling Oh, and is dark green better or light green better? This post has been edited by fruitknife: Dec 2 2012, 08:45 AM
